Now that is some good information. That's all we need is another 152 pounder with criteria!

First off, Thanks very much for compiling and getting this info out.

As a FYI, Sullivan beat Hood at 103 last weekend at the Husky Invite.

The match, in my opinion was not as close as the score indicated as Hood was called for stalling twice because Sullivan was in clear control.

At 130, Thibault is 2-1 vs Biddle with wins at the Flinthils and Hesston Tournaments. Biddle won at Halstead. They'll meet again at Circle and Regionals.

Why hasn't Hoehn of Wellsville been moved ahead of Lamar of Silver Lake yet at 125? Didn't Hoehn win their only matchup? Doesn't Hoehn have 2 state medals to Lamar's zero? Just curious to know why it hasn't changed yet.

Hoehn has not wrestled Lamar this year. He beat him last year at regionals. Lamar beat defending state champion Jones at Derby. I moved Hoehn up but not ahead of Jones.

Maybe you have Jones ranked to high? Or maybe it's a 321a thing!

112
1. Dalton Miller - 12 - WC - 6A
2. Trevor Boyer - 12 - MV - 5A
3. Bo Newport - 11 - PV - 4A
4. Aspen Kmiec - 11 - SH - 5A
5. Bo Pursel - 10 - LS - 5A
6. Austin Hood - 10 - LOU - 4A
7. Dylan Schumacher - 10 - TMP - 321A
8. Tommy Williams - 10 - STA - 5A
9. Hunter Haralson - 9 - LAW - 6A
10t. Zac Dremel - 10 - OS - 6A
10t. Nathan Reed - 12 - CB - 4A

How does Kmiec go from unranked to #4 by beating one person? I know ranking the 112's isnt easy because there are so many good ones, but this latest list puzzles me. Didnt Prescott beat Haralson 2 weeks ago? Using your criteria, he should be #9. Where did Ruiz go? He went from #1 to not even on the list.

The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.

We should start a new thread called "112 - Keep the Change!"

At this weight more than others, I have dedicated coaches, dads and fans that know these wrestlers in detail. I also have seen most of these battles.

Isaac Ruiz and Zac Dremel have taken the biggest hits from the latest action. Ruiz especially. I am a huge Isaac fan and all he did was lose two VERY close matches to Williams and Dremel. That moved him to #4 in 6A. Then.... A 22-1 Dremel loses to a 5 loss Hood only to be pinned on the backside by a 7 loss Haralson. Williams, who has had a fantastic season, with his only loss at 112 to Bo Pursel (We'll get back to him), beats Haralson and loses to Austin Hood (He's back from the carnage of Eudora by the way). Yes, Prescott beat Haralson earlier. Oh well, let's get back to the story. Boyer! He was the last man standing after the smoke cleared at Eudora. He could hardly get the smile off his face until Zac Dremel showed up with an attitude at JOCO. We have already read the Dremel chapter so let's talk about the human wrecking ball named Dalton Miller. He has basically destroyed everybody that he's met, including majoring Boyer, until...a small town kid named Schumacher, who owns a victory over Prescott (his only quality win), didn't care about his record and came within a locked hands call of beating the king at 112. Now to your original question. Why is Kmiec ranked so high? He has two losses. One to Ruiz, and one to Martinez. One big positive for Aspen (maybe bigger than the pursel pin) is that he pinned Garcia from Blue Springs, who is likely to win MO state.

Some parting thoughts:

1. Dalton Miller's success aside, my personal opinion is that in a super bracket, Bo Pursel is the best 112 in Kansas.

2. Dylan Schumacher is better than my #7 ranking.

3. Bo Newport has escaped scrutiny and on any given day could also wear the belt (or the All-Class T-shirt!)

4. I expect Isaac Ruiz to rise up and be counted at the end.

5. This weight would be exhibit A in the case for a Grand State!

Easterberg from Clay Center has a win over Todd Curtis From GE at Newton. He has a 4th place finish at Newton and won the Beloit tournament last weekend.

Chief, I don't mean to dispute, but I don't think Aspen has wrestled Prescott yet.
I concur that Schumacher is better than the #7 currently.
I also concur that Purcel is one the best wrestlers in the state period.
And you can never count Ruiz out.

Three kids that the Kmiec's have tremendous respect for as well as their families.
A Grand State would be a lot of fun to watch for sure.
Gotta love this time of year.
Good Luck to all of you.
