If you look at the team rosters, that does not look like the complete and regular Andale varsity. Suspiciously missing are Jake Hattabaugh at 160 and Scott Lester at 189. They are also showing an open at 215, but I don't remember who wrestles there.

I just hope that this does not mean injury for Jake and Scott this late in the year.

Shawn Marlatt lost 7-1 to Colten Lissolo-Hugoton. Lissolo had a 19-7 record coming into Rose Hill, so you might find someone else to fill Marlatt's spot. Titus Hopper-Valley Center is in the finals and has a 25-3 record, so he could be a canidate.

Codie Bontz beat B.T. O'Hara today. Bontz then lost to Vance Oliver, so O'Hara and Bontz might meet again on the backside. You might keep an eye on Derek Schnittker-Hugoton who had 22-1 record and lost a tight one with Bradley Little at an 8-6 mark.

Here's an upset or maybe just a slight overlook, but Nick Collins-Augusta beat Cody Shavlik 9-6. Collins had 23-1 record to start the day.

RB, I dont know if you want to call it an upset Collins loss was to Shavlik at the Douglass tourny 2-0, both times these guys have met it was great matches.

Chief, you should get some input on Hugoton their boys looked good today not to have anyone ranked.

Well when Collins is absent from the Chief's rankings and Shavlik is up at #3 it appears to be an upset. In the context I used it I was trying to be sarcastic. Collins has probably been overlooked because Augusta doesn't see quite the competition that many of the ranked wrestlers' teams do. The same could be said for Hugoton whose boys looked like they came east to do business.

Schnittker and Hill are the only two close to a ranking. I had Schnittker ranked earlier at 135. He's at 140 here and deserves a 4A ranking for sure. I thought Cody would wrestle Armstrong closer though.

Correction on the Collins loss to Shavlick at Douglass. It was 3-2. Shavlick backed up and stayed on & near out of bounds the entire third round while Collins continued to shoot & Shavlick continued to go out of bounds. Stalling probably should have been called but not with that official. Agree that both are quality wrestlers pretty evenly matched.

Willis won the match at the dual. Fist period Official gave 2 on a takedown to Curtis then Willis reversed to the back and picked up 5. Official took the two away. IMO willis didnt wrestle after his free willy move (at least Mr Bowden was able to see the great officiating)

Where ever they are ranked,
they will see each other again at regionals.

Chief,
I'll admit I'm biased, but I think Codie Bontz deserves a spot in the top 10 All-class. His losses are to #4 Blew (leading 4-3 in 3rd when he fell victum to the pinning machine), #5 Oliver (1-5 and 3-5), #6 Little (6-12), #8 B.T. O'Hara (has gone 2 and 1).
In making the case for putting him at #8, in his 3 bouts with B.T. he won the first match 2-1 in an o.t. match we would have liked to have seen continued but B.T. called for stalling. Second match was not close at 5-1 and the final third bout ended in 4 overtimes with B.T. riding Codie out. However I and many others would argue that the match should have ended with :17 left in the 3rd with a clear takedown by Codie.
His only loss to a wrester not listed in your top 8 was Schwager who he traded 1 for 1 lossing when suffering a bout of the flu.

So what is the explanation for Haralson being ranked as high as Prescott and Reed? Reed has beaten Prescott and Haralson is 0-2 against Prescott. I'm guessing that this somehow goes back to Prescott losing to Schumacher in Hays. NO legitimate wrestler would lose to him. If anything, Reed should be 9 and Prescott 10.

it was obviously not a takedown if the ref did not award 2 points. O'Hara still clearly had the wizzer and Bontz was not around the waist or in between the legs.
