Just wondering myself cause he went from your #9 guy one week and then got ahead of all the guys in front without wrestling any one of them, and went to your #2 guy.

It was a combination of many things...

Here are three:

1. Penka won the deep Newton bracket over Seibel, Keiswetter, Gaither, Laib, Heiman and Long.

2. The Walker/Charland match at Bobcat.

3. Son was basically idle and Josh had a close one with MN.

It should clear up tomorrow with Penka and Son at Chanute!

Yes Morgan always wrestles Josh good. I really think he should be in the AC but like I said it's hard to rank these guys, and better you then me. And you do a good job, but did Penka clean house or did he have close matches as well in Newton?

I am delighted to see that these two young men, who I have endorsed heavily since the 2009-2010 Chief rankings addition came out, are finally getting the credit that they deserve. Or should I say the credit that they have finally earned. Either way works.
Typical for Calderon as last year he started a little slow too but came on strong towards the end. What a coincidence also that he beat the kid who he beat in the finals of kids state two years ago in the most monster of brackets which I already mentioned way back. Obviously Javier had the goods all along or he wouldn't have placed at Fargo.
Of course the season is not near over so we will see how they hold up, knock on wood. But for now, thanks Anthony and Javier for making me look like a fortune teller, or at least somebody that might know a little bit about what they are talking about.

From what i remember from your endorsements, is the kids state champion at 90 lbs. last year was not worthy of the ranking. For the matter no 9th grader was worthy of a ranking above the upperclassmen in the 103 lbs. division. Didn't Bryce Shoemaker pin the junior Kaleb Bonilla from Goddard? And isn't Zac Gentzler undefeated?

Ah that's way too harsh!!
Nobody said Gentzler wasn't legit and didn't deserve to be ranked. Just thought Bonilla deserved more respect and Gentzler needed to earn that #2 ranking behind Pursel. Ridiculous to bring up Shoemaker cause the score was 1-0 with like 30 seconds left. From what I saw, if Bonilla is in as good a shape as Shoemaker, he wins that. As for the future, who can say. Not me because I am obviously not a fortune teller.
My comments were not about those kids, although I obviously thought about them. It was, as an observant person would have seen, about given Calderon and Vieyra credit. I didn't even include the names of the kids they beat because it wasn't really about them either. It was about Calderon and Vieyra.
I really just like saying Bonilla, Calderon and Vieyra. Those are really cool names and I love saying them. And they are really good kids who are pretty good wrestlers at that. I am all about positive recognition and recognizing kids. You guys are just malicious and derogatory and use kids names in a negative way to make yourself feel better or smarter or whatever.
And as for your comment Chief, all I can say is juvenile. I really expect more from you. Of course I knew when I commented that I would get razzed and probably deserved to be. But it was worth the risk and embarrassment to be able to say Bonilla, Calderon and Vieyra.

XGHSWC,
You make it sound like Shoemaker got lucky to beat Bonilla. It's not like he used a lucky move to catch Bonilla, he ran a bar arm half and stuck him on his back. The match was halfway through the season I'm pretty sure Bonilla was already in pretty good shape at the time. Not saying if they wrestled again the outcome wouldn't be different but at the bobcat it looked like Shoemaker was in control the whole time. JMO

Never said that or implide that, Shoemaker is definately fabulous, a "machine".
I agree, I was there.
BUT..., if Bonilla were in better shape (which I know better than any of you, I am at practice and every match, seen him work out with Martinez and Lemon in fact just yesterday) it would have been different.
Let's move on from that and not be derogatory anymore.

But just to let you know, I am already light and having a good time, thanks though.

what happened to antillion at 119 didnt he beat Kriss of colby earlier in the season

and i believe that caldroun is a good wrestler but did get pinned by reed at Newton and the score before the pin was 10 to 2 so it was a beating so dont give him to much credit because he then got beat by Javier on the back half but i believe Javier deserves his ranking as he lost to reed with a very questionable call at beliot and beat sullivan

I think you will have to get Curtis back in the mix here. last night he beat #4 Gaskill 10-5.
