A satelite weigh-in is a secondary location for wrestlers to make weight the night before a tournament. The accomodations allow for wrestlers and parents to sleep in a little more on the morning of a tournament. For example, Concordia's "Con-Kids" tournament offered satelite weigh-ins the night before in Salina. We drove from Oskaloosa to Salina on Friday night, weighed in, and stayed at my Mother-in-Laws house in Salina. The next morning we were able to sleep in and drive the last 40 miles to Concordia. We would have not driven 180 miles on the morning of the tournament to make weight. I appreciate satelite weigh-in stations... and the extra sleep.
