I had a few questions...
What is the acceptable amount of time for a tournament to post their results?
Is it required USAWKS to post them?
What about Track Wrestling results that are not complete? Is it the responsibility of a club to go back and catch those up?
If there are rules and these rules or are not followed then what are the possible consequences to the club?
It is my opinion that if you are going to try to seed a tournament or even a very tough bracket within a tournament then you need to go back and look at results! COMPLETE RESULTS!!

No, there are no rules about posting results. I know of no Kansas tournament that uses past results for seeding. As far as I know entrants are seeded according to their rating. At qualifiers entrants are seeded by record and head to head if known.

I think it happens more than you think... Maybe not the whole bracket but A LOT of times you see the top kids on different sides of the bracket. That is not a coincidence. When you have a bracket full of A's or Bs or even C's and D's some people make an attempt to look at past results to seed people!

I don't doubt it's done but I'm not sure how many look at past results to seed a bracket. I certainly wouldn't as it would take a lot of time to gather and digest that info to make it meaningful. I do know some just learn who the top kids are at certain weights from being around them. If there are a clear top 2 kids, seed those and the rest are drawn in.
I've heard requests several times to have a kid on the same side, opposite side and most often bracketed with (In RR brackets) certain kids seeking out best matches. It's up to the tournament directors to do something with that information if they choose to do so.

It would make sense the top kids would wind up on the other side of the bracket from each other. But if a tournanent doesn't even ask for a wrestler's record, they are going to take the time and trouble to search head to head?

It would be nice if the tournaments that are using TW would complete them. This info stays with these kids for ever and it would be nice if it was accurate. If my Dad or Grandpa wrestled, it would be kind of cool to go look at their past results.

I can say that when we bracketed the Haysville Tournament we looked up a lot of names if they were in bigger then a RR. We looked at a lot of the bigger tournaments. I think its important for all tournaments to try to seed people correctly especially this time of year. It effects seedings at subs and such.

It would be nice if the tournaments that are using TW would complete them. My guess is that indicates the tournament gave up on TW at some point in the day.

i feel that it should be mandatory to post results, it would help track the novice division, and would aid in seeding at ALL tournaments including subs.
i also think that most clubs/parents have a good idea of who the best wrestlers in brackets are. most try to seed as best they can, but with a little extra work and time the results could be posted by everyone.
in my experience when clubs hand out medals at the tables, the end results don't get recorded, on trackwrestling or other wise. BUT since people complain about every little thing at tournaments, clubs try to appease the griping parents and hand out medals before the brackets are recorded properly.
