Just curious but why is Chase Locke of Maize ranked. He didn't place at Newton and was beaten 9-5 by Zach Litvak of Gardner-Edgerton. Is it because he won his regional?

I wish Josh could wrestle Picking just to prove how wrong you are, but at least he'll get Son. But just like I said you have something against Rodriguez cause you just kept moving him down no matter what he done and he did nothing but win except against Dozier and Blair this last weekend. And everyone lost to Blair alot worse then Josh at 152... I can assure you I have nothing against Rodriguez. By definition, if you move someone up, someone has to move down. Picking is undefeated and is tearing it up. Not "everyone" lost to Blair worse than Josh. Blair beat Numrich 2-0, Son 3-1 and Cokeley by a "Herman". You might just get your wish this weekend. (And I would root for both Josh and Colten).

I know what he beat Numrich by I was there, I have nothing against Picking cause being undefeated is big and like I said I think you don't give Numrich his credit either. For the most part you do alright, but for the last two years you have knocked Josh, I know cause I've watched it very close,I just thank God that him or his parents never took you serious like, I guess I did.

No one is being "knocked". The Chief gathers information and kids get recognized. I have never seen him "knock" anyone. He just states the facts. When there isn't any head-to-head competition it is very hard to rate these guys. I guess he could rank them all number 1 but that wouldn't be very interesting. This weeknend he has a chance, just like everyone else, to make his case stronger. If that doesn't do it, the HS season only last 3.5 months. That leaves Josh 8.5 months to find other competition to state his case with. I am guessing that Josh is not deterred by the All Class rankings. If he is a great wrestler then he does it for himself regardless of what others think.

2coach: You seem to have some good insights into this ranking thing. Have you considered coming up with your own version of All-Class Rankings?
If you did, then we could have something like in football where we have the AP poll, ESPN poll etc... It would be the Chief Poll and the 2Coach Poll. Chief could respond to forum "questions" about his decision process; you could respond to forum "questions" about yours. You and Chief could even compare notes on records. Like who beat who when? How did who beat who? When who beat who, the way who beat who, was the losing who ahead of the winning who? Who's on first? (lame Abbott and Costello reference) Did Horton Hear A Who? (lame Dr. Seuss reference)
I know there must be alot of data. Chief is always asking for new information about match results. It is a big job. But if you could step in with the insights you bring, if you could share your data with Chief like you do on this forum, and if you could actually create your own rankings, then the rest of us would have something else to compare and "question".
I understand if you don't have the time. I know I don't. Until that day, we might just enjoy Chief's attempt to rank fairly. We might let the State Tournaments play out. And we might hope that the state placers from each class go on to compete at Kids States. The Grand States. Only then might we thank God that we get a final ranking with no "questions".
Take your own advice.

Hey I state facts to, Cheif's not the only person who can state facts. And this has gone on since Josh was just in middle school also which I'm sure you wern't aware of Coke. But like I said at least Josh and his parents never took his thoughts to heart. And as far as ranking kids for the most part Chief does alright I dont need to start another one Sprat, and I'm sure you know that this is what this forums for, to state your thoughts right? Well this is my thoughts with my nephew Josh and chiefs rankings on him. Josh will get a chance to prove him wrong this weekend so I'll just let his wrestling do the talking from here on out...

2coach....
I didn't know of Josh in middle school. Should I rank Josh #1 without criteria? Would his parents then like me? You have to understand how strange that sounds. I can tell you if Josh beats Sam Son, I will rank him higher. If Josh beats Colten Picking, I will rank him higher. If Josh beats Cade Blair, I will rank him higher. I don't know any of those wrestlers personally, other than Cade Blair wrestling on our National MS team. Also note that I have Drake Lovvern ranked below Josh. I don't have a bias against him either. I have Anthony Whittley ranked below him. Still no personal agenda. Rory Haug is one tough kid in that bracket. He's not ranked. His uncle is not mad at me. I bet he is a great kid, just like Josh.
This "out to get me" attitude is strange....

Brandon Vasques from Dodge City beat Greenlee. Not Locke from Maize. Skylar McComb from Derby beat Locke by Fall, and beat Vasquez from Dodge City by Fall But has lost to Greenlee 11-3.

But just like I said you have something against Rodriguez cause you just kept moving him down no matter what he done and he did nothing but win except against Dozier and Blair this last weekend. Depending on how the bracket works out you might get your wish Mr.2coach. They could meet up in the finals or somewhere on the backside. Ulysses schedule might not allow Josh to see the same competition that the kids ranked ahead of him see. If you look at 321a wrestlers there are plenty of them with undefeated records that aren't where they would like to be in the rankings. This could be because of the strength of their high school schedule or because of what they have previously placed at state. Its ok to have an opinion and not have something against someone else. I'm guessing that Chief doesn't even know half the kids he has ranked personally which makes him a great ranker because he has no bias opinion in most cases. And everyone lost to Blair alot worse then Josh at 152... In my opinion (and probably everyone else who has seen the match) Blair's closest battle would have to be with Cokeley. No one was takendown and only escapes and reversals were scored.

no his parents will never like you, as a matter of fact they could care less about you. don't make this about other people. Im sure there are great kids out there in fact I know that. this is my thoughts on you and Josh. Like coke says you state facts, so Im stateing facts. Im not out to get you. I just found it odd how you kept putting people in front of Josh without having criteria as you say. You know and I know Blair is #1 and until someone knocks him off of that then he should stay 1. All Im saying is you always want criteria and when you have him at 3 then all of a sudden you start putting guys in front of him without them ever wrestling him and Josh not doing anything but winning I find that odd. I'm not mad at you, I to could care less about you also, I would just like to see my nephew get the credit he deserves in his last year, just like Mr.Dozier said to you in an earlier post...

The credit any wrestler deserves is going to come from the matches he win, the titles he wins, and scholarships he receives. No recruiter, magazine, or newspaper is going to care one iota about what someones predictions or rankings are. Let this weekend do the talking and quit worrying about it!!
