Just a short drive south of Salina is a great BBQ buffet in Smolan. Ask for directions, you won't be disappointed.

Martinelli's Little Italy - Salina What about Martini's Steak and Chop House? Is that still there? I wouldn't wrestle the owners for a meal though!

Here is one that you may not know about in Salina....Daimaru Steakhouse on Crawford. They cook in front of you, light stuff on fire, and throw shrimp in your mouth. Its about a block away from Hickory Hut which is great, too.

Any fish specials in Hays on Friday??? Vernie's and JD's Chicken are both good nonmeat options for Fridays
The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.

Professor's is kind of off the beaten path in Hays but well worth it. On 11th street just off Vine. Tbones has become a Thursday night staple, too

I would have to agree with holiday on this professor's is very good as is Guch's and taco grande has improved a lot recently what made taco shop famous was the 6 pk of tacos. Grande's 49 cent tacos are well worth it.

We hit this joint when we were in Salina for the TOC. The amusement park reference was rounds on target. My son called this place his "newest favorite restaurant". The owners better hope that no one from the Office of the Surgeon General ever drops in for a bite or they may find a bunch of little warning labels on their front doors.

don't they have any mcdonald's in these towns, nobody has mentioned mcdonald's. what the...over 100 billion served, and no one is mentioning them. maybe everyone assumes, that everyone else already knows. location: every street corner, usually across from a wahlgreen's and in close proximity to a gas station or two. just look for the golden arches, mmmmmmmm. my favorite comes from their appetizer menu, they call it a happy meal, eat one of those then dig into your main course, a big mac or double quarter pounder w/ cheese (tha't a half pund of beef you know). kids love it too, they have these tasty little chicken part things call nuggets. i've never figured out what part of a chicken a nugget comes from, but wow. service is always great too!
