2Coach- I was sitting by the mat, wrestlers get their faces shoved in the mat every match. As far as the crossface from Colten goes, why don't you ask your nephew what he said to get that from Picking? I think you'd be a little quieter if you heard the shit he was saying the entire match. And if I remember right, Colten stands up with a single and your nephew was returning the favor, he took a closed fist right to the side of Coltens face. Whats done is done, 152 had a lot of really good wrestlers. Colten proved himself, Blair proved he was number 1 hands down. Son put up a good fight, Rodriguez showed he could wrestle with the best, now when should I call since you have such a problem with me?

Oh and coward just to let you know Josh is #1 to and will always be. I never said that pickings didnt deserve his ranking I was questioning how chief done his rankings. which I wont do again, cause I did nothing but jix Josh. And after what I saw this weekend Pickings is 2 heck as big as he was he looked as if he could be ranked at 160 or 171, very big boy

cward and 2coach,
Why don't you to take your little fight to the Private Messages so the rest of us don't have to read about it.

The little fight is done. Yes he is a big guy, he cuts quite a bit to get to 52, Josh isn't small by any means, and both wrestlers would hold their own at any weight they chose. I ment no respect to you or your nephew, you support him just as much as I support my family in sports. Both wrestlers did well at state and earned their placing and respect.

4a is pretty fabulous as well: 103: Bryce Shoemaker pulls out a close quarterfinals win over Mulligan in over time. Dustin Reed looked pretty salty with very convincing wins over everyone he wrestled. 112: Austin Hood had some pretty quality wins over Codie Dean and a nice revenge match with Alex Wolf. Bo Newport had a pretty close match with Nathan Reed. 119: Zac Sparr looks pretty much unbeatable. 125: Symon Seaton looked to be on top of his game stopping Logan Singular from making the finals for a third time. Brett Lamar had a very controversial match with the freshman Levi Eck. Down 5-0 the freshman wonder hits a beautiful peterson to tie it up in the third period. Then he hits a wonderful shot and ends up scrambling and gets taken down on a call that could have gone either way. 130: Taylor Moeder ends Tyson Schimdtbergers undefeated dream season. 135: Nitcher looks unstoppable. 140: A rematch between Bryce Hood and Tyler Anderson. Will Hood stop Anderson's undefeated season? 145: The Missouri move-in Aaron Morgan pulled out 2 close wins over Weller and Nick Collins. Cokeley had a flip flop match with Dakota Hays. 152: Sam Son makes the finals again with a close match in the quarters against Josh Rodriguez. Cade Blair also looks unstoppable beating Picking 6-3 in the finals. 160: Jake Hattabaugh has injury defaulted out of the tournament. My pick Lucas Cortez did not fail me I am looking forward to this match. 171: Also looking forward to this finals with Armstrong and Mumaw. 189: Dylon Walker is looking like a beast! He is going to have a very good match with Anderson. 215: Wuthnow is looking pretty unstoppable but he should have a close match with Hopper 285: In my opinion the finals match for this weight was last night. B.J. Finney and Tank Burns had another close battle but this year B.J. came out on top. Yea, yea, yea 4A is fabulous but so is 5A and 6A. Ask Seybold, Maki, Williams, Johns, Arnold, Koehn, Rickabaugh, Harrington, McCullough, Martinez, Heincker, Vesta, etc. as none medaled this weekend and many are past medalist and that is just like 140 and down. I didn't even look at the higher weights. I know you could go into 3A/4A and do the same thing so no need. All the classes are "fabulous". My main concern is that you can't highjack the fabulous word fabulous that spawned from the Fab 5 for that.

Can't wait to tackle the AC rankings! Armed with hard evidence, it should be fun?!
Some observations:
1. Clay Center was as good as advertised.
2. I had Dylan Walker too low in AC and 4A.
3. I got it right on Picking.
4. Who could get in front of the Mumaw train? Can we set up a match with Madl?
5. Blair is good.
6. T. Anderson is good.
7. I told you that Bo Pursel would get used to 112. (Austin Hood did too).
8. No slight to Trey Page but I missed Lucas Vincent.
9. Congrats to Danny Floyd, winning 3-2 and 5-4 to run the table...again!
10. Zach Hoehn and Jace Campbell had great years!
11. Seybold, Williams, Maki, Crotinger and Martinez did not place at 112/119. Were those tough weights?
I plan to have the Final All-Class rankings out by mid week. If we get a titan match-up at the Big/Small dual, I can amend them!

Great to hear from you Chief and that you are stoked and ready to get at it again!
Yes, 112 was a tough weight, don't forget Williams did not place either. It was your little "changeling" and it took you to task all year. But so did 119 and it really put you in a pickle with the state results. Yes, what about Seybold, that tells you about 119 which may have been just as tough. I can't wait, I am already putting my 119 together for comparison.
Yes, Little Badbo is Fabulous and for me the most Fabulous of all. No one beats Bo twice.
Yes, Clay Center was as good as advertised but so was Emporia and Norton. And of course Goddard who nobody picked early or late. But you were right at placing them #1 at mid-year after Derby T, etc. They stumbled shortly after but recovered and looked as good or better than anyone this past weekend. Derby, VC, Abilene and Lansing had great years just not quite good enough. Yes, Andale might have won it all looking great after Basehor and GC. Things happen. Way too bad about Hattabaugh. He's a great kid and Andale is great. I am sad for the Andale family. What about Garden City? After Newton, they were rightfully #1 after besting Clay Center and you still never answered my question about how they won regionals and fell behind Clay Center. The best they could muster at state was forth where Goddard assumed their rightful position again and made a huge case for #1. Don't be too anxious to anoint Clay Center.
Either way it all shakes down, enjoy your Sunday before you get started, you have a lot of work/fun to do. Best wishes!

Remember that Clay Center was not at full tilt during Newton and had 3 guys out. We never were once at full tilt during the entire season. The Beloit Tournament is the closest to a full and healthy line up we had. After the Beloit Tournament our line up never changed and we did not lose a dual or tournament after Newton.

10-4 to that. Goddard and Derby beat VC by comparable scores at Derby and Rosehill tournaments. My opinion would be that Goddard and Clay Center are the top two, very close.

I agree that these 2 teams are the top 2 teams of this weekend(the weekend that really counts) but this year was so crazy that any of the top ten teams could be #1 on a different weekend.

I think what you guys need to understand is that the All Class rankings are based on an all class tourney taking place. A school may have had a guy at the Newton or Basehor tourney that won it, or placed, and received those team points, whereas at an All Class tourney, that same kid may not place, and only get advancement points for whatever matches they win, not placement points. I can only imagine how much time it takes to try to put together the All Class bracket and go thru it.
The individual class rankings took care of themselves last weekend, this All Class thing is another animal........
We could save Renegade a lot of time if we had the Grand State! Top 4 from each class battle it out!!!!!!

Just want to give a shout out to Drake Lovvorn of Holton, placing 4th at 152. He won 2 matches on Friday 18-15 against Numrich and beat Haug of StJames. Lost to Son 5-2. Saturday came back to beat Numrich again 7-2 to go for 3rd place. Lost 8-1 to Picking in a match that was much better than the 8-1 score. Drake had lost to Picking at Holton's Regionals 16-1 and improved..giving Picking a match to remember going 0-0 first period and getting his escape for the 1st point in the match. Maybe even suprising Picking as his coaches helped him from the mat followning their match. Proud of Drake for getting in a throw and taking Picking to the mat on his back...even if it was at the edge and didn't get the takedown points. To have placed 4th at the 152lb in 4A seems to be quit a feat. I feel like Drake has been a contender for this all season and he has proved himself. At the beginning of the season I said that from all of your rankings and all of the talk thru out the season... I would hope that there would be someone to place that wasn't on the radar. You ranked Drake at 5th in 4A about half way thru the season and that's great but I'm glad to see how it ended up on the mats this weekend! Congrats to all of the State Placers! Kim Lovvorn Holton
