This event is for 1st through 6th graders. Last year the two Kansas teams were put together based upon the kids age and place at state for the 2009 season.
I beleive if we get an earlier jump on this Kansas could once again put together a couple pretty scrappy teams.

Dal Eck, Chris Bowen, Klaus Schmidt, and myself are going to start putting things together for these duals beginning next week. If you have a 1st - 6th grader between 55 and 140 lbs who may be interested start leaving your information on the board or PM. More info will be available next week involving travel, hotel, team KS singlets, and costs.

if you can't find a 1st grader at 60 pounds nix would be available. but you should be able to get one thats alot better than him. but if you don't he's a gamer.

Just an FYI to anyone that is unfamiliar with this type of event. If you have a 3rd grader that weighs 70 lbs., He would have to wrestle any 70 pounder that shows up, which very easily could be a 6th grader. This really should be taken into consideration when signing your child up.
With that being said, when the team selection starts happening, the number one criteria we will look at for choosing which team your child will be on will be your childs accomplishments through out the year. Number one being the state tournament, as well as national tournaments, and head to head matches against other wrestlers.
EX. If we have a 12 and under state champion at 70 lbs, and an 8 and under state champion at 70 lbs., more than likely the 12 year old will get the spot on the first team. So, once we start to conclude the year, it would be great if you could provide your childs major accomplishments throughout the year so we aren't spending an entire evening looking them up..
If there any other questions that you might have please leave them on the board, or PM.

Alan Clothier, 12u 110 lbs, Lawrence, KS Kids State Runner up last year, multi state placer.
I attended last year. Had a good time, till my boy Tristan got sick. I was impressed with all the coaches of Team Kansas, they took good care of our boys and they all represented Kansas very well. I think my son enjoyed the friends he made the most from the trip. Instead of battling them on the mat back in KS, he was cheering them on in Nebraska! My son still text messages the friends he made from the team. Great experience for him.
