The entry deadline for this tournament is Thursday January 19th. Our entries are down from previous years and I have received seveal phone calls from concerned coach's and parents in reference to their "C" or "D" wrestler having to go against "A" and "B" wrestler's.
The bracketing for this tournament is not being done any different than most other tournament's. We have utilized 16 man brackets in the past and then trickled remaining lower level wrestler's into another round robin or even sixteen man bracket when applicable. We will still be utilizing round robin, 8, 16, 32, & 64 man brackets.
In addition, I do not have that many 6 & under's entered at this point. This would be a good chance for your younger wrestler's to get in some good wrestling. Because the # of 6 & under's are down, the one's that do enter are more likely to place at this point. We will be placing 1st through 6th, all with trophies.
The photography problems brought up last year and in previous years at our tournament have been addressed and a new system is in place at this years tournament. It will be ran similar to what you would see at Liberty Nationals & Tulsa Nationals. The top 6 wrestler's in each age & weight class will received there trophy on the podium or riser, which will now be next to the head table on the arena floor. Our staff will take photo's of the placer's for our next years program book. A professional photographer will be on hand throughout the day to take pictures of wrestler's in action on the mat. He will also take pictures of any placers when they receive their trophies on the podium. All of these photo's will be at the request of the parents and or coach's, for a nominal fee. Parents will be allowed down on a portion of the arena floor to take their own photo's of their kids on the championship podium as well.
