Exactly Iratliff--My sons ranked 5th by Renegade--Thats great!! I just know he isnt worried about how he is ranked and neither am I. Just fun to see what everybody thinks is going to happen. What an awesome sport --Just wish i would have wrestled in High School!! Let the games begin.

Well I didn't wrestle either but grew up in a big family where it was drilled into you! Me personally...if I were a wrestler...would rather be the underdog and spoiler! But hey that's only my opinion!

Thats what I said in an earlier post, will let Josh do the talking with his wrestling instead of his crazy uncle. And like i said before chief, you do ok, I know it's tough to rank kids. Who knows this may be Josh's last tournament cause he may play football, wrestle, or run track in college his mind is not made up, I'm just glad God gave him that kind of talent. And your right Iratliff your very right.

I would have to agree with 2coach on the crazy uncle part.

I know you have your reasons Chief, but I am not getting the whole Garden City won arguably the toughest regional in the state, definitely toughest in 6A, and they dropped.

RODRIGUEZ WAS STILL IN CONTOL. refs stole that match from rodriguez.

so the #1 ranked 189 could very possibly meet the #2 ranked 189. in the consolation semis. i'm not criticizing the rankings because i think these kids deserved to be there prior to this tournament, but it is fun to see things play out on the mat.

Thats always a good conversation. But we all know that yes they might be ranked #1, #2. The KSSHAA is the ones that hose that up not the Ranking official. He cannot help the fact that they screw up brackets by putting them on the same side. Maybe one day hell will freeze over and Bowden and crew will figure out that they are hurting our state and our wrestlers by not listening to us....
There were alot of matches held prior to the finals that should have been the finals match, thats all on Bowden and staff.

It was 3 overtime first of all... and what 'headlock'? Obviously you didn't watch the match. (Son over Rodriguez match)

it was tied 2-2 i believe going into the tiebreaker over time. Rodriguez got away in the first one. Then Rodriguez was riding him out and they went out of bounds with 8 seconds left. On the restart there was some movement before the whistle and the referees called the caution on Rodriguez making it his third one and giving Son a point. Son then escaped and won the match. It was a great match and neither one of those wrestlers have anything to be mad about.

Can't wait to see how the rankings shake down after state.
How about Chaparro and Beard knocking off Banner and Blazevic to set up a finals showdown.
Yes, Hicks is on a tear. Would love to see a rematch with Kolmer but a win over Caylor today will have to do for now.
Witten was beasty at 119 knocking of Norris and Humphrey, but Beasley is a machine. When can I see Beasley and Sparr to clear that up.
And what about the perpetual "changeling" weight 112. Williams, Prescott and Maki all battling for survival today and on the same side. Only one will remain. Chief's pre-ordained wrecking ball Haralson is on track to create a major shake down although would love to see him wrestle Miller when Miller was in better shape. Miller "seemed" to have a semi-serious knee issue last night but I am not a doctor. To bad for Ruiz, I am sure many feel that he got screwed on an apparent quasi timeout no call. And Little BadBo Pursel proved once again that no one beats him twice and a win over Boyer today (knock on wood) coupled with a Haralson win over Miller would certainly send him, yet once again, to the head of the class and in my book admission to the Fab 5 because he is the most Fabulous of all. I told you I loved saying Fabulous, along with Calderon, Bonilla and Vieyra who are all in the finals.

4a is pretty fabulous as well:
103: Bryce Shoemaker pulls out a close quarterfinals win over Mulligan in over time. Dustin Reed looked pretty salty with very convincing wins over everyone he wrestled.

112: Austin Hood had some pretty quality wins over Codie Dean and a nice revenge match with Alex Wolf. Bo Newport had a pretty close match with Nathan Reed.

119: Zac Sparr looks pretty much unbeatable.

125: Symon Seaton looked to be on top of his game stopping Logan Singular from making the finals for a third time. Brett Lamar had a very controversial match with the freshman Levi Eck. Down 5-0 the freshman wonder hits a beautiful peterson to tie it up in the third period. Then he hits a wonderful shot and ends up scrambling and gets taken down on a call that could have gone either way.

130: Taylor Moeder ends Tyson Schimdtbergers undefeated dream season.

135: Nitcher looks unstoppable.

140: A rematch between Bryce Hood and Tyler Anderson. Will Hood stop Anderson's undefeated season?

145: The Missouri move-in Aaron Morgan pulled out 2 close wins over Weller and Nick Collins. Cokeley had a flip flop match with Dakota Hays.

152: Sam Son makes the finals again with a close match in the quarters against Josh Rodriguez. Cade Blair also looks unstoppable beating Picking 6-3 in the finals.

160: Jake Hattabaugh has injury defaulted out of the tournament. My pick Lucas Cortez did not fail me smile I am looking forward to this match.

171: Also looking forward to this finals with Armstrong and Mumaw.

189: Dylon Walker is looking like a beast! He is going to have a very good match with Anderson.

215: Wuthnow is looking pretty unstoppable but he should have a close match with Hopper

285: In my opinion the finals match for this weight was last night. B.J. Finney and Tank Burns had another close battle but this year B.J. came out on top.

Looks like someone spoke too soon. Colten proved he deserved the ranking. a 16-1 tech fall speaks for itself i believe. Looks like the All Class Rankings were just fine. My hats off to Chief for all the work he puts into this, and to me, it looks like a fair set up, I'm glad you *2coach* don't make your own rankings, something tells me Josh would be number 1, good wrestler but obviously not that good, don't dog other wrestlers, especially trying to say your nephew would prove everyone wrong and beat picking, from the start he didnt have a chance, and his attitude and penalty points were ridiculous, dirty shots, talking sh*t the entire match when your getting worked, doesn't make much sense.

No I didn't speak to soon, and no Josh would not be ranked 1 Blair would be and I do believe he did beat pickings right? I did not approve of Joshs actions but You cant open your big mouth and say picking was playing fair by pushing Joshs face down into the mat and then cross facing from left feid so picking was not innocent either that and the call he got from the ref in the son match really played a big roll in the way he wrestled the rest of the tournament. I will say this Blair is one bad ass, and picking is a monster he should have been on the other side of the bracket from Blair cause I think he would have been in for first and second instead of son. So coward at least I know I am man enough to say I was wrong. And if you want to talk s*it on my nephew feel free to call me and talk with me 620-255-1001
