I think what you guys need to understand is that the All Class rankings are based on an all class tourney taking place. A school may have had a guy at the Newton or Basehor tourney that won it, or placed, and received those team points, whereas at an All Class tourney, that same kid may not place, and only get advancement points for whatever matches they win, not placement points. I can only imagine how much time it takes to try to put together the All Class bracket and go thru it.
The individual class rankings took care of themselves last weekend, this All Class thing is another animal........
We could save Renegade a lot of time if we had the Grand State! Top 4 from each class battle it out!!!!!! Well of course, no need to tell me that. That's almost a duh. But until we have this all class tourney that you speak of, the best we can do is compare teams throughout the year and especially after state for I do know that "in life you get credit not for what you start but for what you finish". Chief made a comment about Clay so I made a comment about some other teams, etc., and it went from there. Isn't that how it is supposed to go. Obviously Chief will be putting his final top ten teams together and may just do it off of a point system that he develops based from individual rankings in the respective weights. I can see that, that could/would be appropriate. But I could also see just developing it off of how they finished as teams factoring in some commons throughout the year to compare the classes. Either way, my top three are Goddard, Clay Center and Andale with Derby and Emporia close behind. For me a question would be what about Andale? What do you do with them? We all know they are one of the best. But where were they in the end? How much do you factor for Hattabaugh? If they had him would that have made the difference? And do you even consider that? Etc. What about Garden City? They looked really good up until state and then they fell apart. Do you punish them for that and if so why would you not punish Andale although I know that was different with the injury. Maybe Garden City would say well we lost McElroy and had some injuries right before state. VC and Lansing might have had some injuries I do not even know about. Emporia would probably have something to say about being number one although they placed behind Goddard and Clay Center at tournaments. And yes, Norton is really good as is Abilene.

I agree that these 2 teams are the top 2 teams of this weekend(the weekend that really counts) but this year was so crazy that any of the top ten teams could be #1 on a different weekend. Point well taken.

I guess I should have said "what everyone needs to know" instead of pointing it at "you guys". I know you know, but some on hear don't understand it. Part of being a great team is having depth. Obviously Andale didn't have enough of it, and it appears even if Hattabaugh would have done what we were hoping he would, it probably wouldn't have been enough.
Again, it is so complicated, someone as dumb as I can't even get my hands around where to start, so I'll let the Chief do his thing. As long as he doesn't call it the Fabulous Final All Class Rankings............

I did also notice that about the point spread and how much could Hattabaugh earn and it appears not enough. But his presence as a point getter would probably have inspired others that were close. I have had teams where one kid went down and it dominoed. While with other teams, kids fed off of the success of others. Of course, the fabulous commit mad me laugh, once again.

Whether Jake's injury "took the team down" or not, is not an excuse. Clay Center is a heck of a team, plain as that. Same with Valley Center. We just gotta get better.

How is Garrett Hinckley ranked 9th. I know he took 2nd at state, but he also did not place at basehor linwood. A tournament that Kiefer Hurla, Josh Hanson, Dalton Weaver, Cole Schreiner, and Tyler Selves all placed at. There is no way a 12 loss kid with that schedule should be ranked all class.

Two things. He beat Bontz and the end of February matters more than mid January. I will look at that weight again. Thanks.

112 1. Dalton Miller - 12 - WC - 6A 2. Bo Pursel - LS - 5A 3. Trevor Boyer - 12 - MV - 5A 4. Austin Hood - 10 - LOU - 4A 6. Dylan Schumacher - 10 - TMP - 321A 6. Bo Newport - 11 - PV - 4A 7. Nathan Reed - 12 - CB - 4A 8. Tim Prescott - 10 - MCP - 5A 9. Hunter Haralson - 9 - LAW - 6A 10. Zac Dremel - 10 - OS - 6A
1 - Miller beat 9 - Haralson by two in the finals, who beat 10 - Dremel by two in the semi-finals, and there are seven wrestlers in between them. Wow, you talk about a tough, and I guess balanced weight class (at least at the end of the season).

sundevil- thanks for the confidence in Zack. MFE- at this point in time I agree with chief that Chase deserves the number 1. Zack did loose once this year to Eck- Zack had not wrestled for one month, had been in the hospital with CT scans, iv fluids and was not even going to wrestle at Bobcat- he was 9 pounds under- the score was 1-0 until the last 10 seconds when he tried a gramby and gave up 3. Zack has not otherwise been riden by anyone all year- still, no excuses and he has never made any. He has never said anything about the rankings. He has always handled himself with great sportsmanship and respect. Watch the videos and see how he reacted when 2 points were awarded and then taken away for a takedown at state finals or when an escape was awarded and both kids thought there was no escape.
His quality h.s. wins include- wins over U. DeShazer (2 time 2nd) win over Beasly last year (state champ this yr), win over Dane Norris (state champ) win over J. Vesta (state champ), major over Bo Newport (2nd); pinned R. Whittemore (2nd at state);15-1 win over Rose last yr (Nichter beat Rose by 1 pt); 14-8 win over Davis last year (Davis beat Moeder twice last year) Other quality wins in middle school included folksytle wins over Bontz, Cokeley, Gentzler, Seaton... He is also the defending KS freestyle and greco champion. To boot-like Parker Madl, he did not cut any weight this year and like Parker and Ryne he was 1 match away from All-American at Fargo
So, MFE, I have no beef at all with Chase at number 1. A great kid and outstanding wrestler who has proved himself over time. I do have a beef when you say you think the match would not be close.

Anybody that knows Zack, knows that about him. He just wrestles from whistle to whistle. He never whines or complains and leaves the mat with his head held high. That's why he's got a permanent invitation to join my Renegades team at the Park Hill duals!

It all depends on the wrestling style. Nitcher seems impossible to take down so Tanenbaum would have to win it from top or bottom. Fun fact: Nitcher beat Deshazer 9-0 at derby.
