I would like to congradulate Colt on a wonderful High School Career. I see that people were saying his level of compatition was very low in 321a. I would like to no how everybody thought he would do if he was in 4a, 5a, or 6a through his High school career. Would he be a 4 timer in an of those classes?
Here is my guesses. 4a Fr. 1st (Ryan Canale, Zach Peters?) So. top 3 (Second best in bracket behind Trent Cox) Jr. Top 3 (Second best behind Ryne Cokeley) Sr. top 3 (second best behind Taylor Moeder)
5a Fr. top 4 (Nitcher and Jordan Keller) So. Top 3 (John Keller) Jr. 1st (You have Biddle, Blew, and Penka tho) Sr. 1st (Charbonneau?)
6a Fr. Top 6 (Parker M., Chase Nelson, Kuty Russell, Chaz Lawrence, alonso Hernandez, Diamond Wilson) So. Top 3 (2nd best behind Nathen McCormick) Jr. Top 3 (2nd Behind Trent Cox Sr. 1st

IMO Mr. Rogers would have been competitive in any or all classes. Wrestling matches are wrestling matches. A winner and a loser in every match. Mr. Rogers has shown time and time again that he can rise to the level of competition that he is facing.
Taking nothing away from any of the top wrestlers regardless of high school classification. Great Wrestlers wrestling Great Wrestlers prove to be remarkable matches.
YES, I believe Colt Rogers would have accepted to challenges and been a 4X state champion in any classification.
Oh yeah,, The gent can play a bit of football as well.

He is obviously a great wrestler and could have won some state championships at other classes, but he probably would not have been a 4xer. I am not bashing him or 123A. There are several 4xers that would not have been close if they were in other classes.
For example, Trisham Graham(sp?) How many losses did he have to other Kansas wrestlers? 98 - 29 career record. He may have barely made Chief's All Class Ranking, However he got the job done when it counted.
I think Colt Rogers is more accomplished and deserving than a few of the other 4xers Kansas has had.

Colt Rogers is an amazing wrestler. I don't think we can say how he would of done just by looking at other people and guessing if he would of won or lost. I personally have watched him wrestle all four year of High School and i am pretty sure he can hold his own with just about anyone you put against him. And if there's anyone who thinks that 321a is weak how bout they come to our regional out west every year and see if they can qualify. In 5a and 6a its easy to qualify for state "most of the time" because in a lot of weight classes there may be only 5 kids in a bracket. Just my input. Feel free to argue with me.

Colt very well could of been a four timer in any division. A lot of your four timers in other class solely focus on wrestling whereas colt is a multi sport athlete as was Gilland and Gabel.

This whole arguement is pointless except to demean what Colt has done, You can't just take a snapshot of a season and place him in another class, you can only judge him and what he accomplished on his team, with his schedule, in his weight class there are way too many variables, Conngrats to Colt on a fantastic high school career good luck in whatever he does from here on out, I will miss watching him wrestle

The kid never lost to a Kansas wrestler. I got on here expecting to see someone congratulating him on one of the most amazing careers in Kansas history and instead it's a ridiculous thread about classes again.
Noone has beat him. He's not "second best" to anybody until someone proves it with more than an opinion on a talk forum.

Well said. I agree. Most of us have never won one championship (I never did), let alone 4.
Props to Colt!

The fact remains....HE IS A 4X STATE CHAMPION. No one can ever take that from him. I agree with dwelsh. How many of you people, who are second guessing him, have ever won just one state championship? Don't belittle someone else just because you couldn't get it done.
Congratulations Colt!!!!

When he was in junior high Colt's parents would drive him 3 hours to my house so he could set in a van for a 10 hour drive to wrestle at school boy duals. 13 hours of driving to seek out competition. I have never seen him shy away from any match anywhere. He was one of the toughest competitors I have ever met. It was a privilege to be involved in a small part of his wrestling career. I have no doubt Colt will be a success at whatever he does.
All these "Fab 5" and other rankings should taken down by the adults who post them. They are pointless and do nothing to encourage kids to wrestle.

i think colt rogers started practicing with cj napiers old partner, CHUCK NORRIS. therefore he would not only make the FAB 5, he would BE THE FAB 5, ALL BY HIMSELF.

Im just saying its a very bold statement saying hes the best wrestler in kansas (hes a stud dont get me wrong) and your getting this by only looking at his state finishes. Im sorry to break it to you 321a fans but 321a state is a barely above average tournament. If your tired of being ragged on then back it up and go to newton, the bobcat, garden city ect...

The fab 5 and the all state rankings really mean nothing at all Colt Rogers won 4 titles and played 2 other sports at the higest level. How many four time state champs can say they won 3 football titles 3 team wrestling titles plus track. To say 3a is weak come on would you say lyle geyer was weak?

Did the 06 Norton team win the Bobcat? No they won the Newton tournament. They had several finalist and some backside help. They won it by a decent margin considering how tough all of the teams are that attend Newton. I believe Roe took 1st at 160 over Lund of Clay Center (he also beat Cotton of Hutchinson in a thriller during the semis), Bainter took 2nd at 112 to Ankerman of Hutchinson, Madden took 2nd at 119 to Ely of Leavenworth (I think Ely won outstanding wrestler after he majored Madden), and Broeckelman of Norton took 2nd at 125 to Nothern of Salina South (this was a barnburner), Stanley took 2nd at 171 to a kid from Perry,OK (Stanley failed to qualify to state). I want to say that Norton had a couple of placers on the backside Kent Mann at 130, one of the Hardings at 135 or 145 placed, and Pfanenstiel at 152. It was a very impressive performance by the Bluejays and I think they got a little help in the seeding meeting by Coach Johnson, but they proved it on the mat.

Not to mention runner-up finishes for his football and wrestling teams this past year. He also has a treasure trove of KSHSAA track medals.
