Fun fact: Nitcher beat Deshazer 9-0 at derby.

Just curious? Why is that a fun fact? I do believe Nitcher is by far and away the best kid at 135 this year. That kid has a high school wrestling resume built as well (2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st). Tannenbaum is also a tough kid and a class act(2nd, 1st, 1st).

Good point Church. When one's name is Deshazer, they have a target on their back. That is unfortunate. Some just like to see the good lose. Some consider them arrogant (I don't - I consider them aggressive, talented, and fun to watch). So, a better sentence would have been it is a 'fact that Nitcher beat Deshazer 9-0.'

Who beat Nitcher his first and second time in the finals? No fun facts. Just the facts please. ;-)

Anybody know if Nitcher or Blair have college wrestling plans?

Caleb Seaton beat Aaron Seybold head to head at state. Why isn't Caleb ranked above him?

Nitcher's resume actually includes 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 1st at state. He lost to Jordan Keller in the semi's his freshman year and Jordan Keller in the finals his sophomore year.

Suggestion:

If you want to see little Johnny higher on the list, start your own list and rank him according to your "feelings". You then can defend your feelings/reasoning when the Cougars start attacking you for not being fair.

It seems to me CR heavily weights National Tournament accomplishments IOT separate the kids on his list with similar intra-state results. If you don't want to start your own list, but it is important to you where LJ is ranked on Chief's list, get on the road and put LJ against some national competition.

Not sure how he finds the time but I think Chief does an excellent job with the rankings.

It's been the most asked question. Seybold owns Davis and Davis beat Seaton. That's the short answer.

Seaton lost to Davis in overtime, and beat Seybold 9-5. Caleb is also a 3X placer to Seybold's 1X.

OK back to 135-Hinckley 27-12. First round of state he beats a wrestler with a 5-21 record and then second round a wrestler with a 20-13 record. Agree win over Bontz was a huge win for him but I don't think one big win qualifies him for this list.

Steven Cookeley from Topeka Seaman should be ranked ahead of Donny Lockhart of Shawnee Heights.

Cookeley placed 1st in league, Lockhart placed 3rd. Cookeley beat Lockhart in the finals of the 5A Regionals at Shawnee Heights (4-2). Cooksley lost a very tough match to Truman-KMC in the semis at state (3-2. Lockhart was pinned by Truman in the finals, second period. I don't know if there were other common opponents or head to head, but considering league, regionals and state, both head to head and common opponents, Cooksley should be ranked higher than Lockhart. Cooksley also beat Dalton Beard in the semis (4-3)at Basehor.

He appears to be a classy kid as well.

Who did john hambleton lose to this year??

There could b a strong case for Logan Gaskill at #1 at 160..

He has had 3 losses and avenged 2 of the 3.. Beating Willis 2X and Curtis 3X..

His only other loss was to a Colorado kid..

I believe he lost to Hattabaugh early in the season but he never got to avenge the loss because Hattabaugh was injured.

Adjust them now I say!
No really Chief, how do you have Clay Center over Goddard?
I know they are good, they always are but what criteria did you use? There are certainly no results from the season that would validate that. They Beat Valley Center. So did Goddard. I don't see it. Do you actually have some criteria other than they won the Mighty 4A Class State Tournament? Is this another 4A Man Crush thing? Do you actually have some criteria or was it just a personal preference? Do you just hate Goddard like everyone else? What was it? If you used your all class rankings to decide, both teams have 4 listed. Are you saying those 4 from Clay Center outweigh the 4 from Goddard? If so what about the other kids? How do they factor? Goddard placed 8 in 6A and Clay Center placed 7 in 4A, I know the points spread differently so don't give me any of that. I would bet that Goddard could have placed 7 in 4A. So what is it? They are both really good, pretty dang equal. How do you put Clay Center over Goddard? And these questions are for Chief so I don't need any biased opinionated crap from any one else. The question is for Chief.
And above all, remember that I still like you and I love your work, other than the Clay Center over Goddard thing.

Wow nice answer. blah blah blah. i really dont think it matters where Goddard gets ranked, they just prevail. i believe over the past 4 years they have 3 1st place wins and 1,2nd place, which was do to a tech call and points taken from the team. the nice thing about it, i predict goddard will win it next year aswell. they lose Tyler S.,Dakota S., and Josh H.
good luck to all next year.
