Was good. Does anyone know how the Great Bend boy that got hurt on mat 14 is. Looked like he messed his arm up pretty bad.

For a tournament with 1000 kids this was the best ran tourny of the year. Great facility great host and great brackets. and still out the door by 5:30 will be back next year. Hope the Burley kid gets healthy soon.
Well you're just a special kind of stupid aren't you?

Hays always gives out a great trophy. But, I think this was the coolest one they gave out. Great tournament and keep up the hard work. This tournament will start growing.

Great venue. Bathrooms everywhere. Well organized, great mat space, got out in good time and no bag searching! Took our cooler in and no one said anything. What was weird is that we went hoping to wrestle a Greater Gold kid & they were in Wichita & wound up in the finals with a Newton kid. With a great tournament in your backyard it was surprising seeing kids going different directions.

It is a 2.5 hour drive from Garden City to Hays and a 3.5 hour drive from Garden City to Wichita. What's another hour when you live in western Kansas? I would imagine that Greater Gold went east so they could see some different competition before Sub-Districts and Districts. They will see many of the same kids who went to Hays in the upcoming weeks and won't see many of those who attended Wichita until the end of the month.

The boys in D4 like to go to Park City so they can see what is back there. I know in Hays one bracket there was 5 boys that will be in the district bracket in Goodland in two weeks. So maybe the boys from D1 and D2 should wander out this way during the year so they can see us and we can see them. There was quite a few D3 wrestlers out here which was good to see. Hays is a great tournament. Well run great place to buy singlets. With blue chip being there. The hays tournament shirts were great had all the wrestlers listed on the back. Biggest piece of pizza i have every seen at the concession stand. You guys back east don't know what you are missing. Come see us next year!!!!

Turner from Dist.1, 1st time, I did travel with my son to see what was out west, he took 1st, well worth the trip. Also very nice to see no shakedown at the door. And with that in mind seeing some folks with coolers and still seeing long lines in the concessions area. It looked like the Ft. Hays State Volleyball team was working them, I bet they made a fair amount of money!! Take note other big Tournaments! I will be back next year and hope to bring many from the team!

Was there any explainanation to the bracketing, or did they throw everyone into a pot and draw names.

I can only imagine how big both tournaments could be if they would put them on different weekends.

I'm sure they will be, but they did everything by hand if memory serves me right so they will have to manually type them out.
On a side note, I was in my pickup leaving after the last match & a shower at 6:30pm, wrestling was over at probably 5:30? what time did the last match get over with in Wichita?
It was a great tournament from a Ref's point of view, everything flowed smoothly and no major incidents. Look forward to next year
