Zach "Tanny" Tanenbaum is up ... in the 2nd frame after 90 seconds, nothing ... Zach on top ... a turn but out-of-bounds ... no score ... Tanenbaum loses his second.
Zach is a great young man that comes from a great family ... look for his to rebound in Freestyle!

Junior 152 Round 5 (Bout 1392 M 1) - Cody Rodebaugh (California) vs. Chase Sanchez (Kansas)
Chase gets arm dragged to give up 1 ... he counters the head-and-arm for 1 plus a gut ... he gives up a 2-pointer and then gets gutwrenched a couple of time to lose ... 3-9.
Chase gets taken down and then gives up the guts ... Chase has a shoulder injury that is affecting his wrestling ... he loses 0-6.

Dapper even after 90 ... Dapper down ... Dapper defends well and wins the period!
Again in the second ... no score after 90, Dap on top ... with about 12 seconds left Deshazer locks up to trapped arm gut ... drives and exposes his for ... as he is coming back on top, his opponent tries to reverse and Daniel's shoulder popped out (a previous injury) ... the action is stopped for the injury ... in the allotted time the shoulder goes back in and Dapper guts out the last 2 seconds on the match!

Once again some technical difficulties took me off-line for a while! Yes, Taylor has looked phenominal to this point and Daniel had two chances to make the finals!
In his bout with Mark Grey, he lifted and threw him for 5! But couldn't manage to score in the next two periods.

Junior 135 Finals (Bout 1666 M 1) - Jarod Donar (Wisconsin) vs. Taylor Moeder (Kansas)
Taylor has been stellar the past two days! His trapped arm gut has the Kansas coaches bragging.
Taylor scores a slick takedown, locks up his patented gut to score twice ... 5-0 ... Moeder is on top for the start of the final 30 seconds ... with 14 seconds left they are back on their feet but Taylor wins the frame ... 5-0!
Taylor tries an arm spin but gains the pushout and then scores another takedown ... 30 seconds left ... Taylor on top ... locks up the TAG for 2 ... and scores 3 as the foe tries a desperation throw!!
Taylor Moeder is an All-American and a National Champion!! He wrestled a fantastic tournament!! National Champ and Taylor Moeder will be forever linked!!

If you read those results closely, you will see that Taylor never lost a period and only had two-points scored against him! I don't care where you come from but that is a dominating performance!

Dylan Ness was named the Outstanding Wrestler, and his performance was certainly spectacular. However, on my ballot I voted for Taylor Moeder. The manner in which he dispatched his opponents was a marvel to behold, and definitely made him a legitimate candidate for the award.
Daniel Deshazer was a real warrior, battling injury but never using it as an excuse. The things that kept him from a national championship were small in nature, but when facing the caliber of opponents that come up here there is just no room for error. Still, Dapper should take considerable pride in the All-American status he earned while overcoming significant challenges.
