do you have to make scratch weight at lowest a wrestler may compete in for this year ..before the xmas break on competition day or can a wrestler drop in January ?
Also, what is the percentage of weight a wrestler may lose from alpha weigh in or physical ?

Unless they get a doctors note saying they can lose more.

All wrestlers must have a certified weight by the Dec. 23 date unless there is a waiver for ilness, injury or other extenuating circumstance as granted by the KSHSAA.
BUT a wrestler can certify again, after Dec. 23, if a lower weight is desired.
To certify after the December date:
#1 weight must be within the 8% of the Alpha or a Doctor's waiver obtained.
#2 weight must be at scratch and hydrated
KEEP IN MIND. . .To wrestle at the new weight at the regional tournament requires at least 50% of the official weigh-ins to be at the regional weight; so don't re-certify too late as you may run out of competition dates to make weight.

I have two wrestlers injured from football and they have not competed yet due to doctors clearance. Do I have to contact KSHAA to clear this or will the first weigh in after Christmas work?

A word of advice! As a coach, when you have a question regarding any KSHSAA rule, always discuss the issue with your Athletic Director. Your Athletic Director, if s/he does not know the answer to your question will seek out the proper authority to provide you with the correct answer.

What Richard said; however, if they are unable to cerfify by Dec. 23 a waiver from the KSHSAA will be necessary.
