Someone really needs to talk to Abilene High School Wrestling Team about how they acted in the Royal Dual Trouny this past weekend. That is uncalled for in this sport!

I think he is talking about an isolated incident where all involved let their emotions get the best of them on the mat which carried over to a few moments after the match. The coaches from both teams/official did a good job of controlling it wo allowing their own emotions drive decision making. No big deal.

It happens. I feel one of the greatest aspects of wrestling is the opportunity it gives young men to practice controlling and/or harnessing their emotions for the betterment of their performance. These young men look so strong and indestructible that sometimes it is easy to forget their youth and inexperience in life, even at the collegiate level. Kudos to the coaches and officials for handling the situation appropriately.

Free advice Scott01, why don't you post some contact information when you call out an entire program like you just did. Coach Stout runs a top notch program and his kids are competitors. Sounds like some actual people in the know say that it was handled appropriately once the dust settled.

It is a sport of puberty filled adolescents challenged to get the most out of their minds and bodies for six minutes. It is a combat sport and it is a contact sport. Don't pussify the battles and the aftermath. Sportsmanship always, eventually, prevails but the emotions do get the best of all of us at times. No big deal. I agree with Coach DeWitt.

i venture to guess the same thing that always happens. Someone yelled at someone and evryone probley relizes that it could have been handled better. And have some regrets but its all ok now. these posts just throw out dirty laundry in the street. No big deal until some makes a big deal after its long done and over.

What happened was abilene's 152 pounder vs hay's 152.the kid from abilene was winning with no problem,but if you know there 152 pounder, you will know he has a short fuse.It looked liked he threw a couple punches and was going off on the coaches and the fans.the ref didnt see the punches.When you are winning like that and i mean hands down,there is no reason to acted like that.

So it was one kid who lost his cool? Thats not really a big deal. Every tournament every weekend atleast some wrestler, coach, parent will lose his or her cool. Scott01, perhaps you did not like this wrestler's conduct but Im sure you have lost your cool once before, and I dont believe calling the young man out is the right thing here. I am certain if it was a big deal his coach would deal with him occordingly. Thats why he has his coach and his parents, he doesnt need some nameless person on the forums to tell him how to act

Perhaps a definition of "Forum" would help you come to terms with other people having an opinion.

I was not present and I still posted because that is my right as a member. I am not sure why you feel you have the right to try to curtail others participation, but you do not.

By the same token, you were not present with Coach Stout and his wrestler after the incident (on the way home, the next practice), so in truth, you have no idea whether or not something was done.
