I think they had more wrestlers than planned but I think they did an excellent job. We were in a 16 man bracket and done a little after noon. Thanks Mike and Jake

Was a little crowded, but as a coach, that doesn't affect me. Spectators were probably struggling to keepa clear view of the mats, but we were done by 5:30 with the afternoon session. Not bad considering they had double the entries they expected.
I like having round robins for the novice kids, but they also need a dose of reality at some point, knowing how a tourney generally works, meaning if you lose two, you go to the BBQ. So the 16 man double elmination brackets for most of the novice kids was ok also.

Thanks a lot to everyone for coming to our tournament. And thanks to all the clubs for your patience and cooperation throughout the day with keeping the floors clear. I would like too also thank Andover for lending us some of their table supplies. We were not expecting to have so many entries. I believe the great turnout has proved that District Two has a lot of great wrestlers and a lot of great clubs that keep us at the top. Thanks again for all of your support

Over all really not a bad day!!! I have to say that starting the small gym early in the 2nd session was a mistake! They announced that all the table workers would take a 30 min break and we would start. We had people leave to go get food only to be called back and show up in the nick of time! I totally understand you want to start and end in a timely manor but when you announce that your going to do something you can't just up and change your mind. And just because its 2 gyms doesn't mean its 2 seperate tournament!
Overall not bad and we will be back!

I didn't like the combining of all the brackets. I understand that sometimes it is needed. However, when you have thirteen kids in a bracket and seven are one weight while six are the other, why not have two brackets?
Also, seeding was not correct at all. I know a lot of parents were very upset.

There were quite a few first round matches that could have been wrestled later in the bracket, but sh*t happens. When it matters, at subs, the seeding will be correct. Tough for a local tourney to know all of the kids, and who is the 1 seed, who is 2, etc..........It all comes out in the wash. So you got 3rd instead of 2nd, no big deal.

No, my son took first. What is the point in using trackwrestling if it isn't used to seed?

Because you have to have someone doing the brackets that knows every kid in the bracket. Don't know if you've been to a subdistrict seeding meeting, but it is tough to seed kids, even with all the coaches in the room that know the kids. I'm sure Augusta did the best they could. At this time of year, it is about mat time. A couple of our kids that, for their first match, drew the kid that ended up winning the tourney, ended up getting a couple of extra matches, and taking 3rd. All in all, it turned out better for them, since they got more mat time. The kids might not think so, but like I said, it all comes out in the wash.....

It would be nice if someone went back and finished posting the results! ALOT of the brackets are left incomplete!

Toward the end of the day, it looked like maybe they lost their internet connection, cause they were handwriting bouts at the tables.
