Kyle Allen, Clay Center, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Bethany College for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Allen comes to Bethany from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he wrestled. Prior to college, Allen attended Clay Center Community High School. He was a four-time state wrestling qualifier finishing third, fifth, and first. He was named the Kansas 4A Wrestler of the Year in 2007. Allen had a high school career record of 119-32. Allen also participated in track and football, earning all-league honors and leading the league in rushing. Allen also earned all-state honorable mention at quarterback.
Head Wrestling Coach Jacob Marrs says, "Kyle is a former teammate of mine at UNO and Clay Center. Our history together and his maturity level as a transfer student should help him become a great leader to get our program started. We are very excited about Kyle and what he brings to Bethany." Allen is the son of Tim and Kelly Allen and plans to major in social science teaching.
