I can hardly contain myself. The 2011 Junior/Cadet Nationals starts this weekend!! Team Kansas will have scores of young men and young women competing in Fargo, ND for All-American status!!
I'm leaving this afternoon for Hutch ... then at 5 am tomorrow, myself and the Jubster will be heading North!!
This ... never gets old!

Amen. Safe travels for you guys. Look forward to the updates!
(I hear that Wanita is either incarcerated in Iowa or is running a tatoo parlor in Fargo. Keep a lookout!)

We are currently in our last TEAM SESSION of workouts as we speak. Things are going very well. The coaches are all running great workouts. This evening we will have a split session for each group.
After the last Cadet Session at 9:00 p.m. they will clean up their rooms and pack for their trip up to Fargo. The coaches will have them on the road at 8:00 a.m.
The Juniors will have sessions all day tomorrow and then they will depart for Fargo by 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

I am dripping with anticipation! Or, is that sweat? A gentle breeze has the 102 degree weather in Hutch at least, tolerable!
It appears we have a few contenders making the trip North!! (I am trying ignore the forecast of 100 degrees for Sunday in Fargo)
Yes, safe travels to all! I heard a rumor that Firestone tire stock took a big jump today, can anyone confirm this?

Goooddd Eveeennning Kansas!
We did arrive in Fargo about 4 pm ... did some administrative chores ... and checked in the Cadets!
It's always a chore getting connected to the Internet but finally we can tickle the airwaves.
We made a WalMart run which is a ritual to obtain the forgotten items ... and water!! They have a heat advisory here for the next four days!! Yipee!
We have our usual perch looking over the Fargo-Morehead Redhawks ballfield and they are losing to the KC T-Bones!!
Tomorrow is a relatively light day.

... the T-Bones won last nights game, 7-5!
Addie Lanning, 143#, is our only team member in competition today. She will start her Fargo journey at 2 pm!
The Cadet men of Team Kansas had a workout at 9 am and a team picture at 10:15. Now, it's chill time ... though chill is a relative term!!
The Juniors are probably reaching the Nebrasks line, if they got started on time!
Only 1 tire issue on the Cadet trip.
It's great to be in Fargo!!

Lanning v. Minto is on Mat 1!
Addie is in on a leg but can't finish ... she defends a shot with a stuff and spin for 1 ... again, snaps and spins ... Addie wins the frame, 2-0!
Addie defends again and locks up the barbed wire and wins by fall!!

Addie wins the 1st period, 3-0 using a pair of slidebys and a knee pick!
In the second she used a chin and underhook to gain the fall!!
Addie Lanning will be an All-American, going for 3rd!
