Wildcats ranked No. 14 in NAIA Wresting Coaches’ Preseason Top 20 Poll

In only its third year in operation as a program, head wrestling coach Jimmy May has the Wildcats ranked 14th nationally heading into the 2011-12 campaign.

Four BU grapplers are currently ranked nationally in their respective weight classes. 133-pound Josh Haugen (Claremore, Okla.) currently sits at No. 8, 149-pound Jarell Price (Las Vegas, Nev.) No. 6, 157-pound Nathan Sommer (Parker, Kan.) No. 8, and heavyweight Brandon Gebhardt (Sparks, Nev.) No. 12.

“With our success last season, we have high hopes of having a few more guys become NAIA All-Americans this season,” said head wrestling coach Jimmy May. “We have a much tougher schedule, but I think it will payoff at the end of the year.”
