Umm I would say so as well to due to the fact wrestling in college is not big in TN other than utc but high school championships is what im talking about but I guess im not going to win this conversation about multiple state champions in the same weight class.. it's not about winning! i asked you, to not continue this argument. take the time to read the posts!!! most of the people in KS, wrestlers included would love to have a GRAND STATE championship, but that's just NOT going to happen. YOU started the trash talk, because you tried to take something away from a KS state champion. There are plenty of states that have multiple classes in wrestling. That disproves absolutly nothing. We had a KS kid go to UTC (Daniel Peterson), wrestled for coach Brands, had alot of success. He was never a KS state champion. What does that prove??? Nothing! just facts. you stated the fact that the TN tournament FORMAT is tougher, doug747 stated the fact that NO TN team has ever beaten a KS team that he has coached. BigChief stated a fact that there are way more wrestlers in KS than in TN. i saw on another thread that you would volunteer as a workout partner at Derby HS. Please don't just go to Derby, make the whole circuit around Wichita, and find out for yourself, just how tough KS wrestlers are. Have a great day.

Yea im sure that's true due to better odds at being a state champion in Ks then TN ... im just saying.. Many TN state champions would not place in KS in my opinion. Roll on in to that Derby room and choose bottom against Brady Heincker. He could use some practice on his riding time.

I was a high school ref in tenn in 2006 there is only a small percent of high school in tenn that even has high school wrestling that is crazy to even compare anything they do in high school wrestling in tenn to any state. High school wrestling in tenn died in the 80s. Most of the schools can't fill a var line up.

Asking him to go around to some high school rooms is a great idea. I didn't know he was looking for some practice partners.......Let's have a "Cougar tour"!!!

Cougars130 your lucky to be in kansas if your a wrestling fan coming from tenn and you shouldn't trash talk the why we do things. With the support that high school wrestling gets in tenn they're lucky they have a state tour at all its sad the way wrestling gets treated in tenn and you know that. I lived tenn for two seasons i came back for kansas high school state both season i lived in tenn.

Cougar, you're either with us, or against us........Your original idea is kind of a sore subject with KS wrestling. We want a grand state tourney, but KSHSAA won't support it. The fact that we don't have a "true state champion", as you put it, doesn't take away from the fact that KS wrestling is very tough. Room for improvement, yes, but nails tough.
That freestyle dual that I posted was with a KS team that was missing several of its 2nd year cadets. Gentzler, Matt Reed, Ulyses Deshazer, Tagen Lambotte, Bryant Guillen sat out that dual at 152. That KS team took 6th in the Cadet national duals Greco tourney that year in Minnesota, missing a lot of good cadets. Lost in the 1st round of the 1st consolation bracket of freestyle.

Let's drop the KS v TN deal on this thread. It's been established that TN is relatively weak overall.

I agree that this topic should be dropped. It has no benefit except to stir up the testosterone-and there can be plenty of that just discussing "good" topics. Trash talking has a way of becoming tiresome very fast & it just takes up space. ![cool cool](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cool.gif)
