At Newton, Roberson beat Archer in consolation semis to wrestle Stockton in consolation finals where he lost. Archer was at BVNW last week not Holton, as Stockton said.

Ok still not a common archer is 2-2 versus top 5 including a split with Deshazer and a big win over marlatt. He also beat Krier from McPherson who also beat marlatt. That's a head to head and a common over marlatt but the newton situation is correct he lost twice.

The short version of the all class team rankings is a combination of team dual strength and individual all class ranking in Kansas. All class team ranking is not calculated using the same methodology as the individual classes.

Dang RB. He was 13-2 before the weekend. That just jacked up my rankings. Got it fixed. For your entertainment. ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

Dang RB, kind of hating aren't we. Higgins is a state medalist, he is definitely solid. And the loss to a "nobody" was a pin, was he "caught". Oh well, a loss is a loss and Higgins is ranked no more. Are you happy? I believe that all derogatory comments, especially with regard to kids, should be sent in a pm. But each has the right to make his own decisions and say what they see fit I know. I certainly don't want to get caught passing judgement. I can't afford that. I am trying to get to Heaven.

That nobody placed 2nd at kids state last year. This is his first year on varsity and he has shown daily improvement throughout the season. He is a warrior, who never stops battling, no matter the score or the situation and this mental toughness will serve him well as the season progress's. It is not how you start the season, but how you finish it that matters in the end and as a coach I would gladly take 13 other wrestler's with his heart, because I know such perseverance from a wrestler will lead to success in the end.

That nobody might be a nobody because of his location, classification, and circle he runs in. It is what it is. =)

You know 'strength of schedule' has a lot to do with rankings, and rankings have a lot to do with strength of schedule - its becomes a circular argument...just a comment... but I enjoy the rankings and the discussions that follow.... To me, the strength of your schedule is not so much dependent on ranked Kansas wrestlers but the amount of quality out of state competition you see during the season. SJA wrestlers get at least 50% of their matches against out of state competition and if you haven't noticed, when out of state teams come to Kansas they are usually the guys to beat in the tournament. Competition changes so you have to shake up your schedule and go to the competition because you are not going to find it just wrestling in Johnson County.

I applaud SJA for going on the road to wrestle the best! In general If you are 35-0 at the end of the year you are not wrestling the toughest competition. (dont let mom Gentzler nor BadBo whoop on me !)
I agree that the out of state teams are usually the guys to beat in the tournaments entered here.
Why do they come to Kansas? To pad their records? Are they looking for solid folk to wrestle that they dont see every week?
The older I get the better I was!

Other than that your comment seems very inappropriate. 10-4 Chief, I get it. And believe me, I am not trying to break your b..... ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) I love the rankings and you are the authority. Its just Leach was #5 and now #8 after Howell dropped. So he dropped even though he didn't lose. I get it, he is #2 in 5A. That would seem logical if we could say for sure that Howell could beat him. I have some reliable sources that would refute that based on some recent practices that both attended. It is all good though. Leach like Peterson like Hughey like etc. will have a chance to prove themselves as actions do speak louder than words. I am assuming that you are talking about this post since it deals with Parker. I don't understand why you suggest that I look in the mirror. I don't see anything derogatory about it at all, but if you or Parker were offended, then I sincerely apologize. I love Parker. He is a great kid and wrestler. I had the fortune of spending time with him at the junior duals this past summer. As for the nobody comment above, obviously it was about Gastineau and obviously I wasn't suggesting that he was a nobody as the nobody was written in quotes. RB was suggesting that he was a "nobody" when he suggested that Higgins should be removed because he lost to an unranked wrestler, that being Gastineau. I was being sarcastic, I was not being derogatory. It was more about defending Higgins because he like Leach is one of my home dogs. Sorry for the confusion. Now as for Leach, still think he should be #1. Yes he split with Henes at Basehor, Henes is definitely bona fide. But who has Henes beaten other than Leach that is ranked, with all due respect? Just asking because I don't know and I don't want to look that up right now. Leach has beaten Francka, Morgan, Stone, Terrill, etc. As was pointed out earlier by Chief when comparing just two wrestlers, a split would push to the last win I guess. But when you are comparing ten wrestlers and look at the body of work, Leach is #1 in my book. But all of our questions will soon be answered won't they because actions speak louder than words. And I am still trying to get to Heaven.

Cokeley, I agree that going out of state to find the best competition will make wrestlers the best they can be. But as discussed other times on this board. Most schools are unable to do this, due to budgets. Private schools such as SJA have many more options to have the opportunities to attend these out of state events, but public schools have to fight to get the "OK" to go to some in-state tourn. because of lack of funding so out of state is not going to happen. Yes I do believe they should attempt to get to the tough tourn. in-state (garden city, Newton, Bobcat etc....) So my belief is that it is not fair to judge how good a wrestler is from Kansas due to out of state competitions, as many dont have this opportunity.

But who has Henes beaten other than Leach that is ranked, with all due respect?
Stone, Star, Cokeley, Leach in all class. You could sure go either way with Henes or Leach, good news is they are both in 5A, so we might get to see, assuming they can get by Howell and/or Terrill.

10-4 and thanks for the info. So it appears that #1 is well earned and deserved by Henes. They are certainly close, but all those All-Class guys are. And Leach and Henes might meet to settle the score, yes assuming they get by Howell and Terrill.

And I am still trying to get to Heaven. Good intentions and good deeds will not get us there. It's true repentance of our sins and putting our faith and trust in the finished work and person of the Lord Jesus Christ alone! You know you're one of my favorite brother's Randy!
