The biggest disappointment for me was to see the behavior that was displayed by some of the fans and parents at the state tournament. I�m not speaking of any one school or group specifically, but in general. I saw one set of parents that gave me the impression that they felt their son was worthless because he lost his finals match. Wow! How could you ever feel that way about your son?
It is one thing to feel disappointed, but the ranting and raving are completely ridiculous! I�ve always felt that I was a pretty fiery competitor, but we need to keep things in perspective. This is just a sport and no matter what the back of a T-shirt might say, wrestling is not life, and if you truly feel that way, you need to step back and take a look at the big picture. I guess what irks me the most is that most of these complainers either never wrestled before or never had the guts to wrestle.
Remember none of the kids that stepped out on the mat wanted to lose intentionally.
