Sounds like a great tourney coming up....any previews or super tough brackets? They are all tough at this tournament but any really interesting cross-class match-ups?

Would one be Tagen Lambotte (3A) and Isaac Dulgarian (5A) @ 145?

That would be a fun match to see. I have not seen many kids that could hang with Dulgarian but I would bet that Lambotte could give him all he can handle.

126 looks to be a bear with the #2,3, 4,5, AND 6th ranked guys from 4a alone there! Add in the #4 5a kid and the #3 6a kid and it looks like a scrap!
Enlighten Me!

I don't think that there will be any place to hide for most of the weight classes. It would be a good day to bring your 'A' game.

I don't think anything will be posted online during the tournament. From what I understand, the seeding meeting isn't until 10-10:30, so I doubt that brackets will be up until 12:30-1:00.

The Kansas College Wrestling Fund will NOT have a booth at this tournament. Stop by if you would like to help out and feel free to ask me any questions this weekend.
The mission of the Kansas College Wrestling Fund is to provide financial support to active college wrestling programs at Kansas colleges and universities. This financial support will help provide wrestling, academic and eventual career opportunities for student athlete wrestlers in the State of Kansas.

Wanted to weigh in on the finals matches real quick. Several really good matches and what a treat to watch.
I must say though I was quite disappointed in the decision on the Himpel-Elbrader match. From what I could tell in the stands not too far away the action didn't warrant a disqualification let alone a flagrant misconduct (I believe that was the call). Elbrader was leading 5-4 with about 50 seconds left and Himpel was on top in the 3rd period. All of a sudden you see the referee stop the action after Himpel was crossfacing Elbrader really hard. He complained about being bitten and the referee called the match rendering his decision. The result was all the team points taken away from Elbrader and not even being awarded 2nd place. With a tough crossface it would be easy to get cut by the other guys' teeth inadvertently. Elbrader's stunned reaction said it all after the match. Again this is just what I observed.
Curious what others' thoughts were that watched the match and might have been a bit closer matside.

Curious what others' thoughts were that watched the match and might have been a bit closer matside. Unfortunate to win or lose a match that way. Both kids work to hard all weekend. The referee rendered a decision very quick. - Tough lesson for any team - 35 team points deducted. Note: I am just reading the rules. According to the rules that I am reading it could have been a double disqualification of both guys. Trying to turn a guy with both legs in and he is flat on the mat – the “cross face” or grinding a wrist bone over the mouth and or nose in a back and forth motion is also illegal. In this case it could be which illegal action happened first. Both actions are not legal. Covering mouth, nose, throat or neck that restricts breathing or circulation is illegal. biting is illegal I have seen more stalemates, stalling calls in that position, If neither wrestler can advance his position further lets get a fresh start. 1.
