As one who was in high school in 1954-57 I can tell you that there were fewer schools wrestling than there now is in any one of the classes.

I think that adds a little to the impressivness then. I agree. It would be nice to see that data. How many schools each year offered wrestling. I don't know where to look to find that information. KSHSAA?

Colby currently has 59 state champions. I was curious so I went down and counted the photos in the hallway by our gym.

These list are very impressive but I have one clarification question...Are these numbers counting the individuals or the actual state title? I see many multi-time state champions and wasn't sure what these numbers were truly expressing...other that a tradition of excellence.
Example: Colby has 59 state champions...is that 59 individuals who have won state, or 59 titles won by their wrestlers?
I know I could just count the names on the list, but for some of these schools I would need an abacus.
Probably an overthought on my part and a dumb question, but I'm just dumb enough to ask.
