how do they decide the Outstanding Wrestlers? Typically most pins in the fatest time, but that is determined by each tournament.

Outstanding Wrestling is most pins in the fastest time and champion in the belt bracket. I'll start a new thread with Team Champions and Outstanding Wrestlers shortly.

Idk that pinning a bunch of kids real fast is that Outstanding. Not when you have brackets with state champs and state placers squaring off in the semi-finals, let alone some of the finals mathups. Winning a bracket like that is outstanding. jmo

Agreed, but it's different than HS where the coaches get to see most of the final's and semi's and vote. Not sure if there's another way it can be done at the kids level.

I would agree with that, would have to do quite a bit of research...HS level I usually pick my OW during the seeding meeting...whoever wins the toughest bracket should be OW...but that would be difficult at a kids tournament, where we don't know anyone thats not at our kids weight

It would get political and that isn't good for the sport. With the set criteria which was notified ahead of time everyone knows where they stand. Only way to do it at a kids tournament.

Doing a OW is great. But don't give the top 4 seeds a BYE, cheats them out of a pin.

It kind of stinks when u go to a tournament of such high level competition and you have to pin everyone to be an "outstanding wrestler" of the tournament when in actuality to win your weight is pretty dang outstanding but I realize there is no other reasonable way to declare the OW
