A couple of years ago our team lost a dual because of a called illegal slam and the opposing wrestler did not continue. That match sent our team to the 3rd/4th place match instead of being in the finals in a dual tournament. The "illegal slam" appeared to be borderline at best and the opposing wrestler, after being down for less than ten seconds, started to get to his feet. All three coaches quickly surrounded him and after a few words he went back down to the mat and eventually it was ruled he couldn't continue

The bad thing was, our wrestler was up 8-0 at the time and was dominating his opponent. Looking back, and at the time, I wish our wrestler would have just taken him down with any number of moves he could have used and finished him off.
