bj did lose two matches this weekend but thats because he was looking to go out there and win it with muscle...he will improve over this year and if he does get some technique i predict a close match between him and mccormick...and if mccormick doesnt wrestle 130 but 125 its going to be him against marcus Herrera so any way its going to be won hell of a final at either weight... bj got seconds at 125 last year not first at 119 that was marcus from ehs

Essex lost to Hulse 1-0. Essex looks strong as hell, that kid is huge. Jesse Cook from Highland Park pinned Essex. I think that Essex will place but, I think that he will have to wrestle tough to make it to the finals. I think that Herrera will win state this year, I wrestled him at SME at that kid is freaking strong, he beat me 3-1, but he has speed and strength.

I only know big names as far as Shawnee Heights goes. Phil Hart went 5-0 and looked very tough. He thoroughly dominated Figge from Turner. I think the final score was something like 12-1. Blake Malloy hasnt got down to 171 yet, but he split time at 189 and went 3-0. Tanner Gardner went 5-0 with 5 pins. Shawnee Heights should be very very tough this year as a tournament team. They are weaker as a dual team becuase they dont have a 103, 112, or 135 pounder right now. We will see how they do once the tournaments are not dual tournament anymore.

Steinmatz went 4-0, he didn't wrestle his last match do to an injury. Flamez had 5 sticks. Hulse went 4-1 losing to cook. Jones went 4-1 losing a close match to Herrera. Johnny Pray had 4 sticks and almost a tech. Turner beat Shawnee Heights really bad in the finals, I think that the final score was like 53-19.

Turner did put it to SH in the finals (51-24), but SH was not at full strength. Shane Reedy didnt make weight. Malloy hasnt got down to 171 either. Jackson Waechter(125) is also out with an injury. As a dual team I definitely agree that Turner has an edge on Shawnee Heights, but state isnt a dual.
If you remember Kapaun Mount Carmel over the past 3 or 4 years you will see that they were a mediocre dual team but always placed top 4 or 5 in state. That is becuase they had 2 or 3 champs each year and a couple other placers. That is all you need to place top 3 or 4. I see Shawnee Heights being a team like that this year. They have 3 or 4 kids who could win state (Gardner, Hart, Reedy, Malloy) and definitely will place high, and 2 or 3 other that will probably place (Crossen, Waechter, Maddox, Tast). It will be interesting to see how they end up this year.

Steinmatz would have whooped up on Malloy. He was looking forward to getting his hands on him at SME. I heard that Malloy's coach wouldn't let him go 171 at SME.

I doubt Steimetz would whoop up on Malloy. I would think it would be a very close match. I think when they wrestled last year it was 3-2. I sure they have both improved this year, so I guess we will have to wait until Basheor when they get a chance to wrestle eachother hopefully. Why would the Shawnee Heights coach not let Blake wrestle 171? That seems a little stupid. The reason he wasnt there is becuase he hasnt got down to weight yet. He should be there by this weekend for the Colby tournament.

At the SME dual tournement Emporia wrestled Turner and lost 36-28 but Emporia won 8 matches and Turner won 6. The only reason they beat Emporia was due to lots of pins which a couple should of never happened.

I agree we should come back and wrestle Emporia. I asked my coach if we see you guys again this year and we don't. There might have been some bad calls, but you guys weren't that aggresive against us. Not nocking you guys but I watched herrera and he was shooting and very aggresive with other wrestlers and when I wrestled him he only shot 4 times. Don't get me wrong he won and he is a hella of wrestler, but don't sit here and say that you guys had bad calls because there were calls not made against you guys that weren't called.

Everyone is forgetting about one wrestler and that one wrestler is Matt Crystal BVNW. He started off the season 7-1 down at the southwest shootout. what about him?
