Shawnee Heights is wrestling pretty well this year too, they beat Hoxie and Garden City in duals out at Colby, and toped Emporia last week.

I give 5A to the Steves until someone topples them. I would say after their strong showing down south, BC has to be my favorite for #2. I would give Campus more props since they have like, 35 state champions, but I don't think they're deep enough.

BC and Turner mmet at Chanute tournament at the end of January. Last year BC beat Turner there by 20 points, but obviously Turner beat BC by 20 at state.

True on the last post because I was at Chanute and at State, but Carroll beat Turner when they had full teams. Not taking anything away from Turner, they earned their state title, but Carroll had a much tougher regional and got only 10 through while Turner got 14 to the big dance. But I know state is what counts.

Turner will probably take 14 more to State this year. I see they added some 4a school that has never been a contender, to their regional and couldn't fight it's way out of a cereal box.

All true .... but Carroll beat us by 50 at Chanute last year ..... and they'll probably do it again because we are not that good.

Yep, again, superiorsteve, we really stink. It was all a fluke, right?
By the way, Lansing is not bad...they have some good kids.

That is what is so wrong with these Regionals! Those 4 extra wrestlers that Turner gets to take because of a crapy Regional, might make the difference in the final outcome. Go Eagles!

Not trying to be a smartypants but Lansing, if that is the 4A team that you are referring to, has a very good program with a great coach. They actually won their 4A regional ~2years ago. They are probably better than most of the teams in that regional and I would bet that they take no less than third behind Turner and Shawnee Heights. They will help make that regional tougher and provide a little more balance for the 5A regionals because the Turner regional is fishcity. Carroll on the other hand will be battling through one of the toughest if not the toughest in the state regardless of class. There will once again be several good 5A wrestlers that will not be going to state. But that has always been the case. Imagine how that regional was before Goddard went to 6A because they were always in that one.

I'll have to say that i'm rooting for the Steve's this year at state. They are much wittier than BC and aren't too shabby at wrestling either (for being 5a).

Well let's see, four extra wrestlers from Turner could mean the diff., that would mean that they would need to beat someone from another reg. to score a point, so then that person from that reg. must have been a weaker wrestler than Turner's wrestler, so that reg. would have been even weaker, is that what your are trying to say? You must win a match to score a point for your team I think, so if Turner's weak reg. would allow 8 wrestlers from their school to place at state, then all those other reg. must of had problems, some fish, plus the other 6 that did not place may have gave your team a point, which you would like Turner to send 14 like that so maybe you could beat someone to score a point for your team. Heck, just wrestle,or better yet train a little harder, than maybe you'll be a STATE CHAMP.BOO-HOO

what up papa? I am not saying your regional is the only puss regional in 5a. So yes you could pick up enough points from another puss 5a regional to make a difference. Bring your Bears over here for regionals.
