Yes, he had a great state tournament!

I had balanced that vs. his losses against #2, #6 and #9 along with 3 unranked 138s.

How does somebody who didn't even win a state title stay at the top of the rankings

Green has a head to head win or a common over numbers 4-10 on you list and his only loss is to the number 4 kid. Who then he beat 3 times. The last one coming in a 39 second fall. He beat the 6a state champ and runner up, the 4a runner up and he was a state champion.

Just curious why Ball only moves up 1 spot after knocking off the #2 wrestler. and finishing with an undefeated state championship. I am sure there is more into the rankings than this, but I think if you have criteria that Porsch was above #3 and #4 and then Ball beats him, shouldn't that in return put Ball into that same place. He beat the guy you said was better than the other 2 and has not been beat by them.

The top 5 wrestlers in this weight are all deserving just trying to get some love for 321a 😀😀

After much consideration, I agree and corrected 145. My initial thoughts during the year were... Stuart was 1 point away from being a 3X champ and now a few points away from being a 4x champ. Lange has beaten 4 outside state champions. Jonathan has not traveled like those guys. It was never meant to slight him, as he can only wrestle who is in front of him and I have marveled at the entire Ball family over the years. I have had Porsch on my teams wrestling guys from Sweden, Bulgary and across the nation. I was having second thoughts for slotting him so high after his injury and landed where I did after looking at the state brackets, being swayed a bit by the epic Lange v Stuart final. This comparison was always more subjective due to the lack of head to heads and commons. At the end of the day.... I agree that Ball should move up. I am also very happy to report he is joining our All-Class Dual team in Denver as the #1 145 pounder!

Thanks for the input,

Chief

Like I said I don't think you can go wrong with any of these guys. I wish the Ball vs Porsch match would have been in the finals. It was an exciting match to watch and I think if these 2 wrestled 10 times it could very easily be 5-5. Glad to hear Ball is on the dual team. I think both of these wrestlers have great futures ahead of them at the next level.

He also lost to number 4. That's half of your top 10 he wrestled this year. All very close matches. Curious if any of your top 10 wrestled 5 other ranked guys? Tough weight to rank I understand.

Your pm box is full I'd like to know how duncan stays #1 when he was beaten for the title with all the chips on the line. Duhart had 1 loss(I believe) an ot loss to duncan but he won when it really counts.

I watched the match and agree 100% with how Chief has them ranked at 220. I don't have a dog in the fight, keep it as is.

Actually I think it should be Green --- Duhart --- Willis --- Duncan --- Cox
2 commons between Green and Duhart
Duhart beat Kuhn 3-2 at Beloit. Green beat Kuhn 3 times by more than 1
And Duhart beat Gautschi of Newton 4-1 at regionals and he didn't place at TOC which Green was the Champion
