I am curious how many teams in Kansas still actively incorporate Duals into their season? I am not talking about Dual Tournaments, but actual Duals held in front of a home crowd? I would love to see Duals be "free" events, rather than sacrificing points during the season. Maybe hold 4 "free" duals each season, 2 Home & 2 Away? Probably not as big a deal for larger schools, but our school really has no idea what Wrestling looks like because we are a new program and have not had any home events. The student body is not going to go to a Tournament to watch wrestling, but they may watch a dual between 2 teams, like most other sports, and it may even help the sport grow even more. Just my 2 cents, but what do you think? Is this worth a formal proposal?

That one point is a killer, but we do it for our Sr. Recognition. It is easy to forget about that 1pt, especially when our schedule is overloaded on points.

We started our own program 3 years ago, but we haven't had a single home event, so most of the student body knows nothing about Wrestling. Duals are an easy entry into understanding the Team aspect of Wrestling. And, as I said, the average student in school is not going to attend a Tournament to watch wrestling unless they are vested in the wrestler. By making Duals "Free", I feel that more schools would be willing to schedule Duals and have something to showcase their team in front of a home crowd.

Great Bend had home duals on 4 separate days this season.

That sounds like most schools I would think.

We do duals in order to have home events besides our tournament at the beginning of the season. Do they cost a point, yes. Does is suck to waste the point on very few matches, yes. Is it worth it, also yes. Our crowd LOVES having duals.
