No, Norton will not have six in the finals, but it makes you wonder about these individuals from Hoxie's sexual preference when they start talking about streaking together. HMMM?

fanatic,
No way it will be Zimmerman or John. Zimmerman did not wrestle well against John (obviously the knee is really bothering him) and John ruined a lot of wrestling at regionals. He DOES NOT WRESTLE! He sits and stalls the entire match. He should not have beaten Galvan from West Elk or Puetz from Garden Plain. He stalled the entire match. Galvan lost on a questionable call in overtime and Puetz lost at the end of round three when he tried to shoot. Zimmerman had to go to overtime to beat Alison from Hesston. All were great matches. The Zimmerman/John match looked like a repeat of all of John's other matches. He did not wrestle. Everytime another wrestler tried to make a move, he goes for the out of bounds. I am not whining, the other wrestlers should have been more aggressive. I will say I have NEVER seen a poorer job of officiating. There were many "throws" that were questionable. Two kids were taken out by ambulance. It was terrible.

well, i am not so sure on the #145 (321a) to be decided on friday night. Beings as everyone in that bracket has beat each other at one time or another this year, it kinda all depends on the day dont ya think? With the exception of pyle, Johnson Drennon, and Engelbert have all wrestled each other and beat each other this year. I think this bracket is one of the toughest the state has seen in a long time, and the semis on friday are going to be great to watch. But i dont think that it will be decided on friday night.

What does everyone think about the Gilliland vs. Lambotte match in the semi's on friday night? I think it will be a great match and it is too bad that it can't wait until the finals. I think Gilliand will pull off a close decision like he did last year.

In all the musings and predictions, most everyone fails to take a good look at the state qualifiers from Northeast Kansas. Have you ever looked anywhere but your own backyard?

I've watched lots of wrestling before. Seems to me that majority of people just firmly believe that western/west-central ks will dominate this year at state. I think a few eastern ks wrestlers will make the finals, but check out the rankings, and check out past history and yes western/west-central ks does dominate.

i think theres a fairly worthy chance norton could walk away with six state champs. specially if haussermann wrestles like he did friday. BTW sark mith whatever your name is... is your avatar a viking?... or what is it.

check out 189 weight class for starters. NE Kansas has Phillip Lyons who only has one loss this season and that was to Pingleton from Mill Valley (4A). He has wins against Weishaar(4A); Monks(4A); McGovern (6A). He has won every tournament this season with the exception of the loss to Pingleton (he was 2nd in that tourney). He started out at 215 and was undefeated there as well. Take a good look at him. Also, check out Oswald from ACCHS... He's no slouch either. Granted NE Kansas doesn't have the volume of wrestling as central and west Kansas, but it still has quality wrestlers that should not be overlooked.

Like I said I'm sure a few eastern ks wrestlers will get in the finals. But not very many at all. People are predicting finals though, not conso finals.

If Look wins, I will **** a brick. Also, he meant Johnson and Pyle should be the championship match, if state were seeded. And no, Johnson and Drennan have not wrestled. If you look at common opponents, though, Johnson should kick the crap out of him.

1, 2, 3, 4

103:Madden, Farber, George, Ownings Has 3 dominate wrestlers then up in the air

112:Younkin, Lloyd,Miller, Warta loaded with talent and will be fun to see

119:Weatherbee, Baxter, Henjy, Baker Baker has something to prove and will do so on back side

125:Annon, Spillman, Orozco, Tyler Top two seperate themselves and will win all

130:Gilland, Lambert, Lambottee, LaMar Gilland walks through, Lambottee doesn't look same

135:Oswald, Shippers, Badsky, Mollahagen I thought Oswald will have an easier road and better on his feet

140:Schippers, Morris,Webber, Pray Just the west prevails, and Hoxie comes to wrestle today

145:Johnson, Drennan, Englebert, Pyle what a bracket, can't go wrong with any pick. Johnson looks best and Drennan will be out for blood.

152:Younkin, Heslet, Hille, Thiabualt Heslet coming on strong but Younkin will prevail on his feet and with conditioning

160:Sprigg, Johnson,Ross, Foster No real favorite but Sprigg is my favorite to win with big match expierence.

171:Augustine, Dennis, Stuhlsatz, Brewster Augustine has been to big dance and shown he can win. Looked good and Brewster coming on strong after slow start.

189:Lindsey, Schmidt, Scott, Lyons Lindsey has easy quarter. Proved himself last year. I think Schmidt will have problems with Lyons.

215:Horinek, Straight, Zimmerman, Walz
Horinek is clear favorite. He is just to quick, strong, and smart for Straight. Zimmerman and Walz should be a good match.

275:Sprigg, Honas, Eberwein, Klein Eberwein will get smoked by Honas. Not to be out done by Sprigg. He has beat Honas before and will do so again.

Norton
Hoxie
Ellsworth
Oakley
Beloit
ACCHS

So what do you think? Going out on a limb for some of these but lets' wrestle

Strait will win 215 no questoins he is to strong and smart noone else is a clear favorite....but that is the reason why they have the tournament and not just rankings...shoudl be a great tourney with strait winning in my mind. Look from stockton are you serious thats all i have to say about that.

Close 4lifeWrestling....but not close enough. Cause at 103 Farber is gonna beat Madden at state. Then its gonna be tough for Baxter to get in the finals at 119 when Baker will beat him first round. Schippers will beat Oswald at 135 no question. Schippers and Morris will be a great match in the finals at 140. I really think Campbell will beat Sprigg at 160 in the semi's, he's bringin his a-game. As for the team scores......Hoxie on top, Norton will produce a heck of a challenge, but no question in my mind Hoxie is on top of their game right now and everyone is on fire. All pistons are firing and the Hoxie bus is going all the way, better get on board.

Team wise I don't think you can forget about St. Francis or Oberlin, they both have talent but I am not sure how many qualifiers each have.

I feel as though Norton has a chance to beat Hoxie. Patton is going to have a heck of a time getting to the finals. Henjy in the 2nd round, then Baxter who is wrestling awesome right now.

Lyons has an easy first round match then Gulick from Eureka. Gulick is an underestimated wrestler. Big tall and strong.

I put Gilland to win it all. You can never underestimate the power of St. Francis. Not for sure how many they have and who they are. Walz is the main one I think. You better be ready when they get on the mat. Who all do they have and how will they fair you think?
