Would this not be cause for sincere excitement after beating two Seniors in the tournament that were ranked in the state at 112. I believe that Joey was ranked 1st in state at 112. Also believe that Caldwell is Champion material, So get off the kids case. Enough is enough

I remember a time when I pinned this young wrestler from Junction City who had the biggest behind I have ever seen on a human being. That person is Jeff Frandin. I had him on his back in the most wicked cradle ever executed in a wrestling match when he decided to stick a hand in my mouth and try to rip out my tongue, unseen of course by the Junction City referees. Moral of the story, I did a power-flex after the match because I was a junior and he was a senior and he was bigger and if I could go back I would have shown the crowd a different finger saying I was number one.
Who cares if he stuck a finger up saying number one. He did pin a pretty good wrestler, so give him a break because he was just letting everyone know he had won. If the other wrestler was cool enough, like me, he would have held up a peace sign signaling his acceptance of 2nd place.

I believe the issue here was WHEN he did the finger gesture. Obviously if you are doing something like this as the match is going on or when you have just pinned a guy its not appropriate. If you did it very quickly after the leg bands are off then I would see that as just a little bit of celebration. I did not witness the match, and I certainly don't know the Cardwell kid personally. But I do know that he should be very careful of i in the future, because team points are very important, especially when you are competing for a state title.

There is no doubt of WHEN the finger gesture took place. I feel the ref in this case handled this scenerio just fine without the spin of everyone WHO WASN'T THERE. Ive seen ref's pushed down " who will ever foret that", the middle finger flown at full mast, coaches cussed, fans fist fighting, kids stomp off in a fury, so lets get real!!! The Caldwell deal, I consider to be nothing really. Now lets talk wrestling.

I recall about 15 years ago there was a particular wrestler from Immac who was a bit cocky. In a match at Hays he was sitting out on a double chicken wing and while cranking his opponent down, blew kisses to the coaches.

i probably would have blew kisses to the cheerleaders from the opponent's school, but i suppose you work with what you have. if the coaches are right there in front of you, have at it.
Maybe you're not an ugly human, but a good looking ape.....with exceptional verbal skills.

Prant, Good to hear from you! Much like yourself, this 112-pounder was very accomplished. He was a multi-time state place and won at least one State Crown.
Sincerely too, Handy
