I don't know what happened to my avatar. I had to re-register a couple of weeks ago. I guess I stayed away too long. I haven't had time to find a new one (some of us do have to work to make a living and coaching little kids soccer does NOT count as working).

PS: If my wife were my avatar you would be too distracted to post and then Sark Mith Saybon wouldn't know what to do.

How can you say I lose credibility for liking soccer? Soccer is an international sport just like wrestling. As a matter of fact soccer is the most played sport in the world if my facts are correct. Besides at least I don't go to a tennis forum and say that wrestling is the best sport. Poor Grant you are a confused individual. oh and my avatar is way better than yours anyway

Who is Grant, and why is this man's spelling so bad?

i'll leave soccer to the Europeans and South Americans. And even my lowly avatar is better than Nigel's (even though it doesn't come close to Prant's).

It would make better sense if it at least matched your name. And it's sad that when a man can't even remember his own name

How dare u to disrespect the dead coachtwink. Sark Mith Saybon was a valuable asset to the forum during his brief time here, yet you insist on defacing his memory. Shame on you. You don't deserve such a jaw-droppingly hott wife.

..... .... is an allaround good guy! (Is that better, sir?)

No disagreement there (just don't let her know).

NOTHING beats sittin around on a saterday/sunday afternoon and watching 50 some high school girls run around in spandex, deffinitly the #1 hs sport is volleyball, followed by football followed by wresling, im sure ill draw some flack for putting football in front of wresling

And i have got to say nigel, even tho you stuck up for me in your last post. That the mention of soccer was totally uncalled for. I mean come ON nigel, what is soccer really??? i bunch of guys playing with what only wreslers have. as all sports are i realize. but at least in football if i get mad, i can assert great physical pain on my opponent by throwing my body into his. And in tennis you can assert even greater physical pain on your opponent by putting a 90 mph serve right in his junk. and thinking about that makes me realize that the best highschool sport isnt football as i had once thought. But tennis, what other sport can boast a 90 mph nut tap???

I myself have performed this "90 mph nut tap."
Multiple times, actually. I'm not sure if it felt better when I won the match or when I lost, but I played some D-Bags from SM East and got a good one in. I talked about it at the tennis banquet.

Hey,

don't get me wrong wrestling is #1 by far above any other sport. Football comes next although I hated football practice and our team has sucked for like the last 6 years. And then soccer. I play intermural soccer just becuase it keeps me in shape and its fun. I like to watch the grand slams of tennis on tv, but high school tennis is boring that is why I don't like it

Nigel did you not read my post?? soccer is NOT COOL. there is not contact, there is not pain, its just a bunch a guys running around in short shorts kickin a ball. does a sport get any gayer than that??? and if you get mad and go psycho you get a "yellow card" if you ask me it rates just above baskettball in WORST hs sports. and to top it all off the kids doing it could be doing the 2nd best sport behind tennis. FOOTBALL, soccer season is in the fall, just like football, so you KNOW that all the kids are wimps. i can understand maybe playin during the spring if your not any good at tennis, i mean i do track wich has got to be the 3rd worste sport in hs. but during FOOTBALL???? DOES ANYBODY ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS????

You can get a yellow card in wrestling too.

I have never and will never play soccer, but **** , those guys are in shape. As good, or better, in shape for wrestling than cross country guys because of 2 things: 1) Endurance like X-country and 2) sprinting, unlike the x-c guys. The best of both worlds.

Maybe Nigel only likes soccer for its health value (hopefully, because it'd be hard to imagine an Abilene foot fairy)

Man, I've got to speak out here in defense of soccer. I played soccer longer than I wrestled as a kid... now I'm coaching both sports. No contact? No pain? Whoever posted that has either never played soccer at all or has experience that is limited to phys ed soccer or the under-5-years-old recreational level. I had a coach once tell me that players run an average of 5 miles each game - most of that at a dead sprint. Besides, ever seen a slide tackle? The older the age group, the dirtier the tackle, and the more you get away with it. I played soccer in the fall to keep me in shape, have fun, and have a let-down before the intensity of wrestling season. But, I did spend my springs and summers wrestling. In my book, wrestling is #1, soccer is #2... and soccer is far above basketball. Come on, dude...

Im not saying that soccer is a better sports than others, im just saying to me soccer is more intertaining than tennis or basketball, you want to talk about no contact, you get fouls called on for touching someone's wrist in basketball, to me basketball is the worst sport to play.

Obviously wrestling will be the tops on my list of favorite sports. Right next to that is football. Aside from that, I don't care what sport it is or what type of activity it is. Anyone who can compete aught to feel lucky they get to. I enjoy seeing people compete no matter what. One thing to keep in mind. Some people can not compete at all, whether it be due to physical disabilities or mental. Secondly, some sports are being cut or done away with. Cheerleading in Salina is not allowed to travel to any away events/games this upcoming season. Cheerleading, is it a sport? Ask any cheerleader and they will tell you they are not there to simply look pretty. Those girls work hard and some often get injured. Each sport presents it's own particular challenge that individuals must endure. Some might not seem as tough as other (initially) but put yourself in their shoes and you will find it isn't as easy as it looks. Just my 2 cents.
