Last year they were saying they would win the Beloit tournament and I don;t think they placed in the top 10. They did place 8th at state but they did it with 4 kids. The best two graduated and they were two dandies who did well at state. Smith was at 160 and the best wrestler on the team who did not place. He also graduated. Terry placed at state by beating some kids he hadn't beaten all year (White-Sabetha) for example. I would like to see just who will be in his weight. I suspect it could be very tough. RV appeared to have some good young prospects last year but when you look at the roster that was sent in for the 4A preview, they just do not look as good on paper as I would have guessed. The upper weights except for DlToro and possibly Myers are huge question marks. The lighter weights are also big question marks. If they match up just right in a dual they could do well, but I could see them placing onlt 2 or 3 kids in a meet like Beloit unless one of the freshmen little kids are really good. The other thing is apparently you RV kids all think you are really good and if you work hard you will definitely get better. You have a good program and likeable coach.

Why is everyone so worried about who is ranked and who is not ranked. If you feel like people are overlooked or underestimated, proove people wrong on the mat.

i think marc dunn from OZ should be ranked in the top six in 4a since he made the top 8 at 125 last year and he is also wrestling 125 again

i think prairie veiw got jipped in the rankings. brandon sommers plaed 4th and isnt ranked this year.they have all but two varsity wrestlers back from last years team. they should defintly be tough. they bust their butts in practice. even after practice is over, some of the guys are still going.

Dave we didn't get jipped. I didn't send any information in. Last year I kept in touch with Harry Lamar and had several kids ranked. This year I don't plan to send information in. It is my personal opinion which I am entitled to, that the rankings are not in the best interest of the kids. I have caught some flack for this opinion, but it is mine and i'll stand by it. Brandon is going to wrestle in an extremely tough weight class. Throughout the season he will match up with Flory, Steinmetz, Payne, Gullick, Medill, and many other tough opponents. Unless all those guys make it to 160. Then there will be others to take there place. It will all shake out in the wash. Good luck to everyone and Tony, take it easy on me and my sandbagging as you call it. Dave surely you remember Alt I think it was who was probably ranked 1st all year and was upset.

Well Royal V, do you think you are still under-estimated?
