We got at least one more for Tyler, and this is the big one. Tyler’s family will be at state, and the family is going to participate in the two special event scheduled for Tyler. The opening ceremony with the flag, and the retirement of the shoes right before the tag team match. I am asking everyone to consider doing several things in memory of Tyler at state.
1) Paint the cars, something for Tyler on there, as a reminder to all of the others going to state that what Tyler represented still lives.
2) Wear the buttons, everyone. I know that even the officials and refs did this at the Wichita Classic. Do it again, let people everywhere ask about Tyler. It gives us all the chance to tell about a little boy who loved wrestling, and at the same time inspired us to love.
3) Wear the shirts, again a great reminder. Wrestlers you can even wear your shirts to warm up in, or going to the mat. It is again a reminder and people will ask, who is Tyler?
4) Please be there for the ceremony and exhibition prior to finals. They start at 1:30 and will not be that long but will be emotional. It will also be a blast to see the Tag team take place right afterwards. It really does symbolize what Tyler showed us all, wrestle hard, and have fun.
5) Whatever you can think of or want to add on your own.
Lastly, thanks so much for all of those attending yesterday’s service in Hutch. It was so good seeing people from all across the state of Kansas, from Kansas City to Garden City, and from Russell to Maize. I think at one point in time we counted representatives there from at least 12 different clubs. We all have the chance to celebrate Tyler’s life and contribution on Friday and Saturday this week. We also have the chance to let the family know we appreciate their sacrifice in allowing all of us share in the life of their son.
