I was reading CNN News at night and came across this article about a kid without legs who plays football. I thought it was amazing. In the last frame, read what it says about his wrestling career. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multime....1.html?cnn=yes

The above link is not working. I do know that Kyle Maynard is making the rounds on various television shows, including Oprah, 20/20 and others this week promoting his new book. Now there is a story.

Yeah, I saw something about him (Bobby) on the news. A Ref kicked him out of a game just cause he wasn't wearing shoes....Is that stupid or what?

I heard that the link was not working. I can't copy and paste since this is pictures. If you would like to see the story, go to http://www.cnn.com It is one of the news stories towards the bottom of the page under SPORTS. There will be a link to the story. It is a series of pictures showing the student, Bobby Martin, playing football. In the last frame, it talks about how Bobby Martin can press over 200lbs and was the city league wrestling champion in junior high.

I think it's time to get off of the ref's back....if you want to change a stupid rule, you have to enforce it! In my opinion, the guy should be applauded for having the guts to enforce a rule that needed to be clarified.

It is my understanding that since the rule was enforced, that the rule has been changed.

Shelstin, you sound like a freaking ref!!! But I tend to agree with you on this point. To many times people feel sorry for them and let rules go by the way side.

How is he gonna wear shoes? There's some kind of discrimination there for sure, and there can be exceptions to just about every rule. And if you have to wear shoes, why are kickers allowed to kick bare footed?

They may not be able to in high school, but I've seen bare footed kickers in the NFL.
