Another name to throw in the mix would be Esterl of Beloit if he doesn't throw it all away like he did his freshman year. Not necessarily the best in the state last year but he's good and gave Baker all he wanted and was in the match till Baker made him pay for a stupid move and pinned him.

If that guy should be on the list for giving Baker a match, then you have to add Andrew Wagner of Manhattan. He beat Geske of Abilene last year at Beliot to wrestle Baker in the finals, where he barely lost something like 2-1. Baker was quite the staller during the match as well, so if almost beating Baker is list-worthy, then we should add Wagner as well.

What place did Wagner get at State? I will admit that Baker is quite the staller on occasion, but he does have 3 State placings to his name and Esterl has one on his only trip and a runner-up at that. It's hard to compare people vs. people for all the variables to come into play, but I would still take Esterl over Wagner.

Wagner is 1/1 on trips to state and medals. He was varsity both freshman and sophomore year near the middle of the season when he went down with head injuries. Then, after he competed for an entire season, he placed 3rd at state I believe. I've never heard of the guy from Beliot that you speak of, so I'll take Wagner.

The story on Esterl is... his freshman year he was ranked all year I believe then right before Regionals he got caught with something against team rules/school ruls and was removed from the team thus not allowed to compete at Regionals. He came back this year and competed all year won his regional I am pretty sure and made it to state finishing 2nd to Baker of Hoxie by fall at the 4:55 mark.

He is a numerous times kids placer/champion I believe. He is built a lot like Baldridge I think, short and muscular. He is VERY good on his feet and can make even really good kids looks like they're not so good. Just my assessment of him after seeing him wrestle a buddy of mine who holds the school takedown record wrestle him and get taken down like 20 times by him in 3 matches. He only had like 27 against him all year, and like 5 by Baker & Loyd of St. Francis. The other 2 were at the State tournament I believe.

Be careful talking about drugs unless you have proof.

Aaron would please remove or fix the quote from me as I have now reworded it to be politically correct. I am almost sure that was the case as one of my coaches told me that but I have rephrased it already and it sounds better too.

Pat Mosley is a beast but I'll be suprised if he can make 103 this year.

Agree with Sir Randy's comment. People keep leaving Donnie Altman out. Dangerous mistake. Don't forget he is a returning state champion and is a totally different Folk-Style Wrestler. He didn't cut much at all this year because he wanted to grow and put on strength for his senior year. I am certain he will be at 112, will be a big 112, while I expect Perez and Schumate to be at 119. Donnie will be motivated to work his butt off after the Fargo experience this year.

Pat Mosley recently competed at the Sunflower Games and advanced to the finals only to be defeated 5-1 by David William of Russell.

After seeing the tape I know there is NO way he can make 103 I think even 112 would be a stretch...

They are on there now. I couldn't tell what grade they were in from the State bracket. Younkin and Foster deserve to be on there.

I vote for Clay Madden at 112, he is a 3x champ winning 103 in 1993, then 112 in 1994 and 1995.

Clay has a record of 88-9 currently heading into the upcomming season.
I don't think Madden can beat Hansen.
