I didn't understand it either, We gave their wrestler in the final's a standing ovation after his match and when he recieved his bracket and medal. I don't think it was all of the Colby crowd. I know allot of them. Oh Well such is life.

I did not think or realize Colby was cheering against Norton. I kinda liked the idea of two NW Kansas teams in the top 3. I know that I for one was not cheering against Norton.

What? Two NW Kansas teams in the top 3 spots? And to think acbulldog thinks those kids do not wrestle tough competition (see toughest league thread). As for fans Nortons are great along with all those teams out in NW Kansas. They are egotistcal (nobody has a chance against us) but show great support and sportsmanship. I think this all goes with having a great program which they (and a bunch of other teams out there)do.

There are some very solid teams, (and coaching) in NW Kansas. Norton, Colby, Goodland, St Francis...Hoxie is down a bit as a team, but no doubt will be back. The small schools often do not get the respect that they deserve by those that think 6A is the only legitimate class. They can and do wrestle with anyone, in any class. If you will take a look at past placers in the National High School tournament, you will see that small schools represent Kansas well.
