Hard to take anything away from Taplin, In the State finals he wrestled a fine multi-year placer, an undefeated one at that, took down and pinned a guy that has the second most takedowns in a season ever recorded. Grater had less competition, and in the match with Mettlin of Scott city was not an overpowering win, 5-1 I think. Taplin had no trouble with anyone, and there were some very very good wrestlers in that bracket, Eden, Chenowith, etc. My prediction is that when we compare senior champs to the other guys at the senior nationals, Taplin will go farther than Grater or any other Kansas wrestler.
