Sweazy,
Do not want to belabor the point as there is widespread agreement that the Western 321A Regional is the most rigorous regional tournament this year. However, this ranking thing still bothers me.
Bigkneepads made the statement that the number of ranked wrestlers participating in the Norton Regional would be higher except for the fact that no more than four wrestlers per regional are being ranked in 321A.
You reply that the "real rankings" do not bear this out. However, the 321A ranker himself , Coach LaMar, recently stated on this forum that he was ranking only those wrestlers he believed had a chance to qualify for the state tournament, as it made no sense to rank wrestlers who have less of a chance to wrestle in the state tournament. Therefore, no more than four wrestlers per weight class from any one regional would be ranked in the top ten.
The point to this diatribe is that bkp is correct--there would be more than 41 ranked wrestlers (as of 02-08-04) at Norton next weekend if more than four per regional were ranked in the top ten.
Coach LaMar's efforts and time in compiling the rankings are greatly appreciated and it is not my intent to be critical of him--but I do not agree with his philosophy.

We dont really have any wolves in this part of the state. However, there are alot of foxes. But you are right, our little foxes would definitely run from your big old wooley sheep.

Its not English class, as anyone in here who has been on for longer than a minute can tell you im just as guilty of spelling things wrong from time to time, but I have never mispelled a team's name wrong. If you can't spell Abilene which is spelled exactly as it is pronounced than you have issues. Its even wrose when the name is said at state every year about 500 times and people still can't say it right. Abilene has more claims to history fame than 95% of every other town in the state, and that is just pure historical fact not stuff I just made up out of my own head, cause frankly I don't get back to town very often. Its just disrespectful to continue to spell it wrong when you know how to spell it right.

I'll have to agree with Nigel on this one. Abilene is probably one of the most mentioned teams on this message board, plus it is one of the most famous towns in the state, historically speaking, just like he said. Nigel are you going to be in Abilene this weekend?

One must wonder how far your head must be in an undisclosed orfice, Dingbat. I pitty you and wish that you won't grow up to be that one guy who gets a natural high by licking the crust off public toilet seats.

Were are you from what has you school done in the last 6 years
Have you ever taken 10 to state (99) Have you ever placed 9 at state (99) Has your team ever won state? (98) Has your tam ever won state again(99) And then again(03) with only 5 guys Abilene has won it 3 out of the last 6 years I think Abilene was top 3 in 01 and in 02
But more importantly what have you done I bet nothing thats why you hide behind you name (which really fits you)

I know this is beside the point, but Abilene had 7 guys at state in 2003.

112 at Coffeyville looks crazy....Sharp FortScott, Hamilton Chanute, Pittman Augusta, Wall Andover, Carillo Parsons, hard to believe one of those 5 won't be going to state!

Yes Chewie you are correct however the 5 the lucas was talking about were the ones that score the majority of the points, 1 wrestler did not score any points and the other only scored 9. Since Abilene won state by more than 9 points I think it was safe of lucas to say that Abilene won state with 5 guys. However I give alot of credit to Adam Eckert for his 9 points, as alwasy its a team effort.

Nigel, Chewie, and Baker...it was 6 total guys, 6 total medals...Kreigbaum & Taplin-1st, Geske-2nd, Peterson-3rd, Little Zey-4th and Eckert-6th. I'm pretty sure that is right.

Dingbat is from a very strong wrestling background, he himself is a multiple state champ.
His program (and these are just the highlights I can remeber: qualified 14 in 1998 qualified 13 in 2000 has placed very high in state the last several years. has beaten Abilene in tournaments head to head.
He can stillJust because he made a stupid comment doesn't mean he can't come from a good wrestling background.
PS: Dingbat- any one hire you yet? You still coming this way?
Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn- and most do.
