Well said, fanatic.

This year's version of Hoxie wrestling is showing the loss of five talented seniors from a year ago (five qualifiers and four medal winners) to graduation, plus the absence of Michael Schamberger and Charlie Ochs.

Hoxie's line-up is inexperienced, but improving, at six weights and they are open at another. This certainly creates some vulnerabilty in a dual meet and in a small bracketed tournament. But the other seven weights are packed with state tournament proven talent.

Anyone who has watched Baker, Porsch and Haffner coach knows what kind of improvement these new kids will experience during the course of a season.

Is Hoxie the same powerhouse they were a season ago? No. Few teams will ever experience that level of consistent success throughout an entire 14 person line-up - let alone consistently achieve that record breaking level of success year in and year out.

But Hoxie is a very competitive tournament team right now and, as strange as it will sound to some, the tougher the tournament the more talented Hoxie will appear. Barring injury, they will only get better as the season progresses.
