Les; That was a long and very good post. It's funny and I don't mean to belittle anything you said here because I agree with all of it. I think you can apply nearly every point you made with kids who got straight A's and aspire to be doctors and lawyers. The same principles apply. I think excellence in athletics parallels excellence in all other things. Takes patience, hard work, and a little bit of the dreamer in a person. God it would be boring without the dreamers and we would have far fewer dynamic people in the world. Ask Shelby Wilson, never won a state, never won a nationals, didn't win the Olympic trials (got in as an alternate) and then became an Olympic Champion. Hmm, who would have thought it. Nice post.
