You know what, college wrestling "ain't all that". It is a lot of hard work for not much in return. I am not saying it isnt rewarding for some kids but the rewards are for the few and they are far between. I feel kind of funny about college atheltics as an entity. I coached college football, played football and wrestled in Junior College and have had over 80 kids go to college and participate (mostly in football) and in only about three of those cases did I not feel bad about it later on. Most of them were used and abused by a lot of really self serving people and except for the money for school, it didnt do them much good. I am not one that believes a kid has to validate himself by being a college athlete. Hey I saw Jeremy Long and I think I know who your son was, and I don't need to see them in college wrestling to know how good they were. It is a hard business up there and sometimes it is a one way street for rewards and it isnt in the athletes direction.
