I haven't been to the tourneys for two years but it sure seemed as though Salina was a really coming on at that time, a much better run tourney in a MUCH better facility ( the bicentennial center) The Salina club and the people that they used seemed genuinely concerned with accomadating fans and wrestlers, more than the Classic bunch who seemed more intent on how many people at ten bucks a whack they could shoehorn into a horse arena to wrestle. Salina was a qualifier to a national event in ohio, and because of that and their handy I70 location drew quality competition from three or four states. The Classic may have gotten better, but Salina didn't need to.
