Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Shanelle Stires won at least one, if not a couple, Kansas Kids state titles...

Kera Pemberton put a lot of dudes to shame during her time on varsity for Manhattan High School. Plus, she is bootylicious.

There are a lot of girls that wrestle through out the state of KS in High School programs, but they are not noticed. Especially, by the other girls. They are so pread out through out the state that they never see eachother. Most of the girls from KS also never go to all girls meets because you must travel so far to get to them. That is another plus for the new all girls team. They will form more girls meets in KS and they will also be able to promote girls wrestling. I would also like to suggest that if it is possible more girls from KS start going to the Girls High School Nationals. Unlike the guys nationals you do not need to be a senior. This is because they want to get as many girls and as much competition there as possible. Its a really good tournament and brings around 500 girls about 30 per weight class. It is a ways away, but is a really cool tournament and is worth the money to see all the competition and all the girls come together for the sport.

Hey everybody, This is a subject that I don't think too much about...I go to the University of Minnesota-Morris where we have a women's team. Keli Hinton is on of the women on the team. While Keli was wrestling in Kansas, I think that it was in kids, I'm not for sure, but she beat and pinned Todd Sanchez-Wichita West, pinned Michael Bradley, beat Joey Weilert. Her senior year of high school she wasn't able to finish her year due to reconstructive wrist surgery. One of the women on our team, Patrice Crenshaw , Georgia compiled a high school record of 113-31. She won 45 matches, against guys, her senior year. Those are some impressive stats even if you were a guy wrestling.

The gym went nuts!(this was in greco) later on that day in freestyle she was torn up by him (wasnt playing with her again)

Weilert cried a lot when he lost to boys. I can't imagine what he was like after he got stuck by a girl. Good times.
(I'm sure it was totally the ref's fault. Totally.)

Girls should not be in wrestling. I had to wrestle a girl and i was meaner to her than any other guy. I beleive there are other guys out there who try to hurt the girls when theyget on the mat. I don't go that far but i do embarass them and knock the poopy outta them.

As for the comment that girls should not be wrestling, I would like to say that if the girl has the guts to go out there and wrestle against a guy who probably does want to hurt her I think she has full right to be out there. The fact that guys do go out there just to hurt girls, but do not do the same against a male opponent is not right in my book, but girls know that guys do this and if they take the chance they should get the oppurtunity to be there. If there was a division in Kansas just for girls to wrestle in would the mind set of the communtity change? Would girls wrestling be acceptable then? I would like to think that girls wrestling is acceptable now, but I know that that is not the truth in all cases. The support of my community and team helped me stay in the sport and I feel that if you want girls to stop wrestling guys you need to get a girls division started. The only way to do that though is to encourage girls wrestling, especially in teams like the Kansas Krusaders. The only way that an all girls division can be started is if more girls start and continue wrestling.

Tiffany Henson is from Mulvane. She is one of the quicker heavy wieghts I have seen. Last week she stuck our heavy. He had taken her down twice and got to high when she pulled him down and stuck him. She knows her stuff, but I am not sure how well she could compete in HS. Against some of the states great heavies.

Kera that's nice and all but i'm sorry but the best girl wrestler could never beat the best guy wrestler. guys are made differently than girls. there might be some girl wrestlers that are good and all. but it's like the w.n.b.a., it will never take off. as long as there are men out there.
