Two things:
Matt Izard, the post was Best "Senior" wrestler in the state, Taplin is not a senior, Nor is Danny Grater, or Jonas or pretty much anybody you said. If you are talking about the best in the state regardless of class then perhaps your picks could be right, but please read the post topic next time.
Second: Weishar did not get "screwed" he lost plain and simple, there are no excuses for losing a wrestling match only lack of heart. Jacob Strait should have won that match and he did, its time that people own up to their losses. As a coach I would say if you let the match be that close then it is your fault that you lost.

I just keep on laughin'...day after day, year after year I keep seeing posts insinuating that Earl Jones gets some kind of pass because of his leg. Yeah, he gets to pack on a little more meat in his upper body (maybe 10 lbs) than yr typical 130 pounder, but I don't suppose his lack of mobility offsets that? First of all, let someone bend one your legs up and strap one of your feet against yr @$$, and then try to beat your grandmother. Secondly, if he had two feet under him, he'd be tech fallin guys he beats 5-1 now. Think what you want, the boy EARNS everything. You won't find a harder working, more coachable young man anywhere. Not to mention humble and friendly to everyone he meets. Good people, just needs a cleft chin and an S on his cape to round out the package... One, two, or three legs, he deserves some props for what he's accomplished. Nuff said

I think the standing ovation Earl Jones recieved when they gave him his medal says it all.
Congrats Earl

Tell you what, I had not seen Hemmerling in person but he was really impressive. Not sure which one of these really good wrestlers deserve it but man he is tough and huge. Very impressive kid and too bad he isn't going to do it in college.

Agree with ya Westfahl. I swear that if you saw him from a distance, and didn't know how big he was, you'd think he was a 45'er.

Yeah he is something. A coach I was sitting with thought maybe the reason he isnt wrestling in college is because he kind of tweener between HWT and 90 and that may be true but man with that frame he could easily handle 240 or 250 and be a heck of a college heavy someday kind of like Coleman is now and look how much bigger boned he is than Coleman was. He is a monster.

Heck yes. He's only 18, and while he may be as tall as he's going to get, his frame has lots of room for more meat. There's a reason that professional body builders are all in their 30's.
Man, when I graduated H.S., I thought I knew what a work-out was. My college S&C coach put 25 lbs of meat on me in one year...LOL

Is he playing football? Cuz if that is so, maybe he thinks football may provide him with more of a future and doesn't want to try to juggle two collegiate sports at once. Kinda like Jeff Boyle.
