I believe Kansas had the following reach All-American stauts:
Freshman: 22 Sophomore:19 Junior: 22
I believe that Kansas produced around 20% of the All-American wreslters at this tournament.
The state of Kansas did a wonderful job at the tournament.
I also know that there were a couple of great wrestlers from Kansas that did not make it to the final bracket because of the Pool system that they used at the tournament.
In one case they did a last second move in a pool which forced two Kansas High School State Champions and a State Champion from another state into the same pool. Unfortunatley Tyler Baker (Hoxie) did not make it out of the pool.
There is no doubt in my mind that he would have placed if they would have balanced the pools before wrestling or if it would have been a bracket to start the tournament.
There were a couple of examples of this.
Great Job Kansas!

Kearn ended up getting 5th Deshazor ended up getting 3rd, and about the slam i was sitting right by the mat watching it and it was a very bad call they came down a little hard but it was all legal and it was just a bad call that messed up a national championship for him cause he would of won it.
